Need to sign for US Mail Forwarders but which one ??

Its about time i sign up with a US Mail Forwarders,NZ $cuks in prices way too pricey ,got ripped for the New Balance Shoes and few other stuff ,just can buy clothes also here so bloody expensive :@.

Does any ne have experience with a Good US Mail Forwarders.I am looking at this company comgateway.They do not charge monthly or setup fee and give an address of Portland (Oregon) which is a tax free state and their prices are reasonable .

Any suggestions for a better US Mail Forwarders??
 
Importing Country: India

All imported goods must be declared to the Customs & Excise authorities on entry and, in most cases, are subject to customs duty & VAT. This includes goods bought over the Internet.

Damn! just saw this. From when was VAT imposed on goods bought over internet? the last budget? I thought only CVD was put on items imported.

Get a premium account with MyUSABox. It turns out to be a lot cheaper that way in the long run especially if you shop frequently. Plus, they can also repackage your items so you can combine multiple goods into one shipment which further reduces costs.

Also, their service is really prompt. It doesn't take more than 4-5 days for the items to reach India.
 
^^ you can continue or discontinue the premium membership on monthly basis after initial 3 months are over.

So you can choose to shift to free account if you are not importing something in that month. And when you want to get a package back in india which will benefit from premium rates, you can switch to premium membership for that month alone.

MyUSABox is currently the most user friendly option to the individuals.
 
MyboxUSA says "Sorry, we currently cannot service to India. If you think there is an error with your detected country please contact us." What gives?
 
Yeah, thats right. They have suspended new accounts for people registering from India for 6 months or so a while back as they are at their capacity at the moment.

Metalspree might be able to register as he is currently in NZ.

Thank you for insight. If I take an item from US, which is best & SAFE shipping method ? Is USPS better ?

Will customs grab the item (electronics) from US to India even if its coming via USPS ? Is there any limit in Rs to bring item via shipping for customs ?

Of course they will, depending on the type of goods imported you will pay the required duty on the total of cost+shipping+insurance.

There are two bands (mostly) for electronic goods either 23.8% or 14.7 % (mostly computer parts).

They don't bother with stuff valued at less than Rs.2000 or so i was told by the customs official here. Be careful with your declarations tho as everything gets x-rayed on arival so false declarations will be caught and charged as per whatever their database on the goods is. However if you have the paperwork and can prove you paid less than they think you have then will win your point, if they disagree then ask for an re-evaluation.

One exception is if someone brings it themselves and the limit there is Rs.25k worth of goods.

However what i'm less certain about is the handling when its in India, customs will open the parcel but how careful they will be with the goods is anybody's guess :huh:

Lets make it straight, Is it safe is my friend in US sends mobile phone using USPS ? What if he undervalues the item & shows item for around 10000 Rs.
