Need to understand how to run Sony music system's speakers standalone

This thread made me feel nostalgic, I got mine Sony MHC GR66 1998 model which died in 2016
Also see Urmila Matondkar, all the way from newspaper to the wall.

Thanks a lot everyone. Great suggestions and instructive, but my practical problems limit me. I'll give up on the Sony, and get a Bluetooth speaker. Let's see how it goes.

Sony is the most beautiful thing in the room, I'll replace it with largely invisible things : fire stick behind the monitor, small speakers behind curtain.

I opened this thread to suggest this. To part ways with the existing setup, try olx or facebook market to get some value to it, and go for a recent model/design of your liking. The speakers they use inside will mostly remain similar, in fact they will be improved with better magnetics/design. And in addition to that you get compact amplifier design with all latest connectivity options.
