My main concern is whether the CPU is still good enough for high end gaming. By high end, i mean, playing the above latest games on high setting @ 40+ fps. I am not too keen on upgrading the PSU, but if you think its necessary then I will invest in one. Mainly, I was thinking of upgrading the GPU and Ram. I guess 8GB would do it, but do suggest if you think more will be better.

I would say sell off your 5770 which will increase your budget by a bit, then get a zotac 760 and add 4gb ram to make it 8gb total.I believe you don't need to change your psu.
 
You should go for a non reference 7850 / 660 and a 4GB kit, that will be well within your budget and give a much richer gaming experience. Also, you could consider going a notch down on the GPU and include a SSD in your upgrade that would greatly en enhance your overall experience.

I was thinking the same thing. I am thinking of getting a GTX660 along with 8GB corsair vengeance. I wouldnt need a PSU upgrade, right? Also, the CPU would not be a bottleneck for the GPU, right?[DOUBLEPOST=1375083528][/DOUBLEPOST]Also, notice the motherboard. It is compatible with the GPU and the RAM I am planning to buy, right? I would appreciate quick replies, as I am thinking of getting the components today.

With the 660, your current PSU would suffice. The phenom coupled with the 660/7850 should be fine, there may be the odd bottleneck in a few games, nothing to worry about, next upgrade should be the CPU followed by mobo.

Okay, I have decided to increase my budget. I figured, if I am upgrading now, it should serve me for atleast another couple of years, right?

So, I am going with the original suggestion i.e a GTX 760 and a corsair vengeance 8gb stick. I was confused between GTX760 and GTX660ti , with almost similar pricing, the GTX760 offered better framerates with a promise to get even better with future driver updates.

Now, I assume, my VX450 will not be sufficient for the 760. So, which PSU would you guys suggest? I was thinking maybe a corsair VS650 but I am open to suggestions. I hope these components will be compatible with my motherboard and I hope my CPU wont be too much of a bottleneck.

Well, not the CPU may be more of a bottleneck, but since gaming is your priority, its makes sense to buy a more capable GPU. But I strongly suggest you upgrade your CPU shortly to extract the best performance.

The 760 takes only 160W on full load, but to be future-proof, get the Seasonic S12II 620W instead of the VS650 -

Why arent you adding 4GB to the existing instead of buying a new 8GB stick?

Your VX450 should manage. How old is it? The GTX 760 will use only 40~50W more than your existing 5770 card.
 
@Eddy : Its 3 years old now, never gave me any problems.

@topgear : If I have to buy a PSU, I would rather buy something which will be a little future proof. Thanks for the input though.

@Jasku : I am not adding another 4gb to my existing 4 gb because I might run into compatibility issues between the two - e.g. one module being one manufacturer @ 1333 and a different manufacturer @ 1600.
