Hey guys,

I need some reviews on following games. I'm kinda itching for games lately as havent played one since Bloodmoney and Pro Street. I googled/wikied and got some titles.

My main interest is - FPS,"Stealth",Strategy,Racing,Sports. I kinda avoid TPS but what the heck.

My fav games being - Hitman, Splinter Cell Series. (Steath being my most fav genre. Silent Assassin :D )

So Games on my list are :-

Cold War
The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay
Kane & Lynch: Dead Men
Conflict: Denied Ops
Far Cry
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2
Battlefield 2
Thief: Deadly Shadows

Frontlines: Fuel of War
Gears of War

Colin McRae: Dirt
FlatOut 2
GTR 2 - FIA GT Racing Game

So which of the above ones do i need to cancel off or which are some "Don't Miss" games that I'm missing. I havent been playing games since long times so i am not up to date with most of the releases. :)

Also I have never played any game from Commando Series. Do you guys think that its worth it and if it is. Which one should i play as in now with advanced graphics and gameplay i guess those games must not be that exciting?

And do i need to try any of the demos for the games above? Because getting a game and then finding out boring is a real waste of resources ;)

Btw my config - E6300, 7900 GS, 1 GB RAM (667)

Kane & Lynch: Dead Men - Excellent (very addictive)

Conflict: Denied Ops - Crap

Far Cry - Very Good

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas - Good

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 - Good (didnt played much, but its less intense)

Gears of War - Little Buggy on PC (Conflicts with Power DVD and save game file issue), CPU intensive game, ready to OC CPU.

Colin McRae: Dirt - Just WOW

The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay--5star (out of 5)...awasome:hap2:
Far Cry---everyone here knows..:hap2:
Thief: Deadly Shadows--- Not my type

Already placed my opinion at Digit Forum for your query. Here's a recap if you missed it.;)

Long list there pal.Anyway let me list down the games which I have played & could be recommended as per me.;)

The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay: A game which you can't miss purely for it's visual beauty & for it's good storyline.I am currently playing that game at full blast. The sound, the setup & the voice overs are done brilliantly. This is just a run & gun FPS but it involves some stealth elements,hand-to-hand combats & conversational aspects.Overall highly recommended.

Kane & Lynch: Dead Men: I have said it before & I'll say it again. This game is brilliant.Regardless of what the reviews & controversies had labelled it,IMO this was the most entertaining game of 2007.The best part about playing this game is you feel you are a part of the movie.Bad part: The game is way too short.

Conflict: Denied Ops: Pure crap.Played it for sometime.Huge stutters, buggy audio & nothing new as far as gameplay is concerned.Ditch this with eyes closed.

Far Cry: Oh boy! I just finished this game 2 days back.Just like Jim Carey would say in Bruce Almighty "B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L":D This game is visually,a marvel. Most of the times you'll just be engrossed in the visual beauty of this game.Gameplay isn't anything new but beware the game is VERY & I repeat VERY tough.Even on easy level your butt would be pwnd easily.Plus it's very long.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas: The best squad based tactical shooter IMO.Very easy to adapt to & good if you are a fan of Tom Clancy's titles.

Gears of War: Awesome.I'm not sure if you like blasting alien creeps, but I do.:D Which is why this game is so darn good.Add to that the sound, the environment, the hide & take cover stuff, the weapons & the bosses.Everything seems so massive in this game.Don't miss this one.

Rest of the titles I haven't played it yet.Tried Colin McRae's Dirst for sometime but it went a bit too heavy on my system @1280x1024.Left it after that. Will try it later when I get my Evga 8800GT.;)

I guess you'll like Cold War.I wanted to get that game myself as it seemed much similar to the Hitman gameplay.I was a bit sceptical though as it had the almighty starforce protection. And I have a bad history with it.

^^My words exactly. :)

Flatout 2: is ok ok game, expect some dare devil stunts which would bore u instead of thrill u. :)

Frontlines: Fuel of War
: Again no real new innovations in game play but will keep u busy for sometime.

Commandos : Its freaking awesome man. it has every element built into it. u would love it if u like Tactical Strategy games.

and if u like SC, then do try out thief. although it doesnt have the visual felling of SC, it has some even better gameplay features.

Also do tryout the Sniper series games, its completely crawling and sniping kinda game , have to have a lot of patience to play that.

The games u are missing, that u shouldn't have missed :)

Crysis , No matter what they say . play it.

COD 4 : its a real good game (But i like Crysis more)

Turok : If u like killing dinosaurs, not very impressive game but will keep u occupied, based on UT engine.

IGI 2 : One of my all time favorites, have a real BIG stealth element. buts its an oldie :)

MoH: Airborne: A real nice UT engine based shooter.

If u have all these already no props ,or else try them out for sure.

Don't miss Riddick and Thief 3.

Thief 3 especially is the most underrated game ever. Where Riddick was given its due credit as time passed and enough people discovered the game, Thief 3 never gained much popularity at all when in fact it's a really really good game.

GTR 2 you may or may not like depending on whether you want to dedicate some time and effort to the game or simply want quick cheap racing thrills.

Far Cry - Awesome, one of the best FPS I have ever played.

Battlefield 2 - One of the Best games I have ever played, it is meant to be multiplayer and an excellent battle simulation. It has huge maps and is very fun to play if there are more than 8 players on a map. Also try out its expansion.

yep i agree kane and lynch is freaking awesome man.. it felt and played like a hollywood blockbuster.. oh man cant get enough of this game..

there are some glitches here and there but it is awesome.. i love the part where u have to go into the japanese disco tech where u push the crowd mix with them and shoot the bad guys.. dunno y these damn critics didnt like it..

^Cause they just know how to nitpick every single thing. That's why they are called "critics" aren't they? ;)

Dont miss vegas and vegas 2 ( vegas got best shooter of the year 2006 ) , farcry 1 of the beautiful game ever made game is long n tough though , flatout 2 is good entertainment coz different n unique gameplay , Conflict: Denied Ops crap do not play , gears of war another great game play with latest patch.

Thanx a lot guys...

seems like will to get all of above one by one :P

@memnon :- I am not a huge fan of Sci-fi shooter as in stupid guns killing stupid creatures.. Yeah i know graphics are freakin awesome but gameplay does matter too... So i skipped Crysis and will Skip Turok :bleh: Btw which Commandos game were you referring to ? As in which one is a non-miss...

I am definitely on Sniper Series and IGI 2 (Played IGI 1 long time back ;) )

Already tried COD and MOH :D Nice games...

Any other suggestions on "Stealth" genre...
@saumil :- Is Thief 3 the same one that i mentioned in the list ? or its the prequel of that game?

@hammerhead :- ATM cant play Multiplayer but will surely try Battlefield 2 in single player. Hav heard lots of favourable reviews :) Command & Conquer - I actually played it but dunno what got on my mind, got impatient and removed :P Will keep that in mind although down the list :D
------------------------

Hmm,

Conflict: Denied Ops - Kinda read the plot and thought it would be good FPS with decent story lines and gameplay... Seems like i was mistaken ;) Nevermind there are many other options at the moment..

@dipen, thats what they say bro , the game play is crap and all, but no u just try out the demo atleast and see for urself. :)

Dont miss the Kane and Lynch one , its just freaking good. :)

hmm Stealth eh?

Tried MGS4? u didint mention Splinter cell Series played it too?

Nope.Wrong you are. There were actually 2 PC versions of Metal Gear Solid. The Original Metal Gear Solid & Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance.;)

Can't wait for the next Hitman instalment.Blood Money was just a blast. With the way it ended I never thought it would have another sequel but Eidos wouldn't let their top assassin die so easily. Not this way atleast.:)

why is everyone missing halflife series??? the orange box?
and did anyone like stealth kills in pop two thrones??? and assasin's creed?

^ yep... i truely love Half Life series ...specially Half Life 2 awesome game...

well POPWW is best for me in POP series... i can't even cross the 1st boss in POPTT:@

I could vouch for POP but Assassin's Creed got boring after a while. The speed kills in POP:TT were just too good.

@gamepagol: Are you playing the PC version or the PS2 version? If PC version then are you gaming with controller or Mouse+Keyboard?

+1 for Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance :) ... for PC .........awesome graphics, storyline, dialogue, superb stealth .........I found it better than hitman.
