IS THERE SOME SCRIPT OR PROGRAM TO SHUT OF MY MTNL TRIBAND MODEM, I DON'T MIND GETTING TO EXTREME MEASURES OR EVEN IF THERE IS A DEVICE THAT SUPPLIES ELECTRICITY FOR A LIMITED TIME ,I NEED SOME HELP SWITCHING OFF MY MODEM AT SHARP 8 O' CLOCK,THIS MONTH I HAVE TO PAY CHARGE FOR EXCESS USAGE UPTO 4k , WHAT SHOULD I DO, MY DOWNLOAD GETS OVER AT SHARP 8 O' CLOCK BECAUSE I SET A SCHEDULE ON UTORRENT, BUT MY MODEM IS STILL ON AND THE MTNL PEOPLE SAY THAT I HAVE TO SHUT OF MY MODEM AT 8 O' CLOCK BUT I CAN'T GET UP AT THAT TIME, AND CAN I DO ANY THING ABOUT THE EXTRA CHARGES I HAVE TO PAY TO MTNL, SHOULD I SPEAK TO ANY MTNL PERSON ABOUT IT, PLEASE HELP
search India Broadband Forum (Powered by Invision Power Board) for this. You would need to set up bridged connection mode instead of default PPPoE mode. Then u need to set up a Dialer and u need 2 scripts, one to connect u to internet at 12:00 p.m midnight and the other to disconnect u at 8:00 a.m. I use the following script to connect:
Script name: connect.bat
rasdial MTNL <username i.e. phone-number> <password>
I had bought from Heera Punna in Mumbai an electronic timing device which would switch off electicity supply to any gadget attaced to it at preset time. This was made in Germany and cost me about 2k. This was very accurate with the timing and this may be what you require. I had loaned this to a friend and unfortunately he passed away ..... I will not ask his wife to look for it and get it back - therefore I cannot give you more details of this product.
