Hey guys,

Bn using Vista Ultimate SP1 for sometime w/o any issues.

Suddenly y'day my PPPOE connection disappeared from my machine.

The tragedy is i cant even creat another one.

My OS is up2date with daily updates.

I've performed following troubleshooting steps:
- Tried restore the system..but windows fails to restore it
- Tried uninstalling Ethernet Adapter and then re-installed it
- Tried with the drivers provided with the CD of the mobo
- Was getting ISATAP (yellow exclamation mark) under network adapters in the device manager...which is solved now after i re-installed the drivers from the CD provided with mobo
- When i try to create PPPOE Connection and put in the details..at the end it says "WIZARD COULD NOT CONNECT..something like that"
- Also tried reseting BIOS default to check if something was done to Onboard Network adapter by mistake...but all was fine there
- Tried doing it in Safe Mode..In safe mode also it isnt able to do that
- When i double click on the shortcut icon .. it gives Box " Error =( Explorer.exe ***** cannot find the link"
- In Network and Sharing centre it shows that my PC is connected Unidentified Network:
.... My PC ----> Unidentified Network ----x----> Internet
- Also tried removing the connections saved and then again tried creating a new connection (PPPOE)..but same error occurs.

Cant do w/o net when am at home and 2ndly dad also uses the computer.

..Thanks in advance for the help and suggestions.

hey boogie man...i am having the same issue u posted. i know this happened to a year ago and this is happening to me now. and am sure you should have done something to get rid of this issue. please let me know the solution for the issue.

Do one thing. Run the setup again to create the connection. Once it fails write down the exact error message and let us know.

After the error pops up and you have noted it down finish the wizard in error state. And now go to event viewer(Start>run>Type -> eventvwr and click OK)

Go under Windows Logs>

There you will find System and application Logs. Check if any log related to connection creation error has been generated. Let us know the complete log by opening it and clicking on Copy and pasting it here.

A Request - Please lets not use SMS language and "...." to complete the sentence. Lets keep our forum free of it. MODS any inputs on this?
