Got the game. Heading off to work right now, so will try it once I get back. Should be a decent time killer, if nothing else.

I saw the IGN video review and a few others, before leaving for work and they kept echoing the same thing; gameplay being repetitive after a while. The dialogues/script being horrendous was expected, given the nature of it's plot. However, the self-dismemberment was something different. Anyway, could probably try it somewhere down the line.

Most of reviews of IGN are 8ish no matter what

True that. They were on a rampage last year giving 9+ to anything and everything that was hyped during its development. Very rarely do they give this low a score. They gave Amy a 2 on 10!

Just completed the game and it wasn't all that bad. Sure it did have cheesy dialogues and gameplay was rough around the edges, it was a still a decent game. You ought to be willing to let your "AAA standards" guard down to be able to enjoy this game. I liked the boss fights in this game. Some of them were very easy, while others were pretty challenging. I had a rather tough time with Alex's boss battle. Got really frustrated last night and was almost about to rage quit and start afresh this morning. Thankfully, I made a second attempt and nailed him down. Got the final boss today. The story got a bit serious towards the end and with all the twists, I'd say it was quite unexpected. Anyway, it's certainly not a game for everyone, but it's not as bad as IGheN made it out to be. 6 or 7 is probably a rating I'd pass on to it. :)
