I don't know whether its because of someone in the company taking bad decision or Airtel been pushed to do things like this. But surely , the company has taken a path which is sure to raise question and annoy people in new , improved , different manner.
Airtel today has added its hello tune Advertising before each Hello Tune Song the user paid so that when his friends , relative call him they can hear the song while they wait for the call to be attended.

The Advertising which last about 7 seconds , is a serious issue as , Airtel is using people`s money to use their advertising. A normal person would pick a phone/call within 10-15 seconds and what is the purpose of one keeping the HelloTune when almost half of the time is purely advertisement from the company.
We had the same issue with BSNL , but its time we stand united and show these greedy Corporates that their plan of using our money to advertise their product is not going any further.

If its true , then its a pretty crappy thing to do . On the contrary they should be giving consumers who chose to get the ad aired some incentive

I suppose IDEA has been doing that for quiet a long time.

Whenever i used to call my IDEA friends i got to listen
"Iss IDEA caller tune ko apne mobile mein daalna chahte ho to * dabayiye"......:@

Who wants to add this stupid lady's caller tune :P

^ WTF = What The F**k.

I have been hearing this since quite some time now. But maybe not every time I called.

Does the thread starter use the same language even while he talks to his mother?

Its better to avoid these kind of words in Public.

Its not correct to start a thread with such a word IMHO.

PS: I know what he meant by WTF, just posted here to make the thread starter to realize that he is posting in an open community, not simply blabbering with his friends.

On a lighter note:

WTS - Want to sell

WTB - Want to Buy

WTF - Want to ..??

Search for "WTF"

on internet it simply means that you are so frustrated .. nothing more.

so stop being a nice guy.

and yes i did know that this is public forum and thats why i didnt fully express the word :@ . cant you understand even that basic thing ?

i could have also meant World Taekwondo Federation ...

and why dont you stay on topic. isnt that the basic thing to do on a public forum ?

Me thinks Hello Tunes is a really senseless idea.
Dunno y ppl wd even use it.

Well you in the first place can surely avoid venting out ur frustration on a public forum with sch words.
Cud have easily opted for What the hell.

Gmano aint wayward in pointing out the problem with ur thread title.
Have some propriety.

Some people (Not pointing to OP :P) say a guy would keep a romantic song as hello tune so that his GF can hear that when she calls.

Hello tune is bakwas and just wastage of money. 30 rupees per month, 15 rupees per song selection and on top of that the 3 rupees per minute call to select the song...RIDICULOUS. :@

Airtel earlier had this habit on prepaid...when u used to call they used to promote 40 seconds of VAS....And by chance our society transformer was on fire...and i calll and imagine......for calling fire brigade i had to hear this 4hit

^ no offence mate.. i just feel caller tunes are a big rip off.. just like when you have to go through a really lengthy ivrs section while setting a caller tune.. and you are charged for the ivrs recorded time!!!~

to those who have felt "offended" because of TS's remark, i say grow up.. he didnt put it out in full and hell, even MTV have a WTF section in "Wassup".. so chill.. it's just a form of showing annoyance.. :|

on topic, I really think hello tunes are a rip off.. And with this prob, it's even more than i thought it was!

Swear from today you all will never use hello tunes :P especially from Airtel. Just call their customer service and tell them you dont want hello tune, even if you dont have it now :ohyeah:

PS: I have never used hello tunes, caller tunes, tunes tunes

btw, you dont have to use the IVRS for hello tunes. you can get the code directly from the airtel site for the song and call that number directly

^^ I think that was possible for vodafone (then hutch) but never knew about airtel. But whatever it is, hello tunes is just crap and wastage of money and inserting ads defeats the very purpose of this service (sic)
