C'mon man, just tell me in simple English na ! Which drive is better ?

Ok, let me reframe. Is the DQ60 worth the wait over the DW1640 ?

Ok lets make it simple. The 1640 is now and happening. The dq60 might not b even worth the wait. And even Techhead said that the review for the TEC drive aren't good. So moral of the story - A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush !

ill upgrade frm 1640 only when blue ray disc comes in market...and writer supports it..i guess ard 18 months frm now......or my writer gets bad

Nope. More like 10-12 months.. BR and HD-DVD are coming by 2Q-06.
