mmm..i cudnt see any diff b/w 40 and 50.....both have solidburn, dvd+-R DL, etc etc....

he power requirement has changed.

Its available easily in madurai for 3k and also the BenQ DVD+R media and RW media are available easily. Will ask them for the price of 1650

Does 1650 have any advantages over 1640.
I would still prefer 1640 as it has been tried and tested and reviewed at so many places and even by TE members here.

Also TechHead if u read this.

No Benq Service Center here in or near by Mumbai,

I can't dare to go with them for warranty purpose.

AFAIK , Benq is the only drive that has 2yrs warranty.
Also so many people are still dying to get there hands on DW1640 including me
But i didnt have time as my college term end has come and exams are the in 1 month.

Not sure yet. The screenshots show 10 learned media with Solidburn, this *may* come to the 1640 with new release of QSUite 2.0.

and is a sata dvd writer any good? cause i`m planning to buy a dvd writer soon but wont got for this one if sata isnt as good or better then the ide ones..
