PC Peripherals New cabinet suggestions

Hey fellas.

I have an old Mercury ATX cabinet & the HD temps are soarin high at 45-46. Have to keep the side case open to keep the temps down.

So am planning to buy a new case for my system (just the case, already have a 450W PSU).

Budget 2-2.5k max.

What do ya guys suggest.

Any important factors to take into consideration while selecting?

Availability is quite limited here in Chandigarh, so it would help if you could suggest a few dealers from where I can source the stuff.

if you're interested in antec you can order online from itdepot and they'll ship it to you

look for a case with good ventillation, 120mm intake/exhaust fans perhaps
 
400 bucks for shipping is pretty reasonable. :)
Have got some stuff from them & they ship really fast.

Anyways, Antec SLK3000B Black looks pretty decent, 2 X 120 mm cooling capacity.
But the price, it'll cost me around 3.6 k's. :(

I'd surely like to explore other options too.
 
i am too from chandigarh and antec products are available here, so are cooler master. get Antec SLK3000 imo.
 
If u want something decent around 2k or so, u can check out the Zebby Geforce 2. Its a decent cabinet for the price, and comes with a 400W PSU. 120mm rear fan + 2 side vents. Cost me 2.3k, and since u already have a psu u can sell the one that comes with it.

Edit: Note, it has an Nvidia TWIMTBP logo on the front :P

That's very important, in fact the only limiting factor to purchases!!:ohyeah:

For something very functional and within 1k,
Try for the VIP 856 something, black cabby!!:)

Has loads of fan options for its price!!
Apart from rear and front, don't remember 80mm or 120mm,
there is an intake chimney for CPU on side panel, normally found in Intel TAC compliant chasis, but square at the base instead of round in SLK 3000 and the likes meant for intel round HSF!!
So sits flush with AMD CPUs + 80mm fan mount optional!!
Nice 120mm fan intake (fan optional) on side panel for cooling gfx card and PCI slots!!

Total VFM at extremely reasonable price!!:hap2:
Around 800 bucks or less!!

p.s. If you can afford the SLK3000B, you will not regret it!!
Should be 3.1k or lesser, if you bargain well!!
Its similar in design to SLK3700AMB and had better space and ventilation than my SLB, especially mobo and HDDs:P !!
HDD cage is normally oriented, front 120 fan air passes unobstructed over HDDs and the sides of the cage deflect air towards side panel, forcing some air under mobo too:clap: , resulting in mobo cooling like crossflow fans:cool2: !!

Got a SLK3000B for pal using Intel, 6-7degC instant drop in CPU temps under load, that too w/o front fan!!:hap2:
My friend just shifted his old Athlon 2800MP into now his SLK3700AMB, again 6-7degC drop in CPU temps, again w/o front fan!!:hap2:
They are happy so i am happy for recommending the right product!!:P
Damn, that reminds me, have to arrange 120mm fans for their front!! lol...

Else chk the VIP cabbies and Zebronics range(damn, so many of them)!!

Just make sure you have at least one rear exhaust and one front intake, 120mm best, 80mm will be fine too!!
intake/ventilation holes on side panel esp lower down, preferable!!
HDD bay should accomodate 3-4 min and should be big enough so that HDDs are spaced out well!!
 
yeah i got SLK3700AMB from bikey.. awesome cabby worht the moeny value... till now no front fan.. doing very good.. very silent and rock staedy.... it has quite someweight which i always prefer in cabinets..

Had a real awkward name ... Zion Antibiotic ..

google it out .. was for sm Rs 1500/- .... Looked really nice..

I ll try to get the contact no .. and the pic as well ..

I got the contact numbers of some Antec dealers in Chandigarh, thanks to 4mer.

They quoted me a price of abt 3k for SLK3000B. I might just go for it.

I checked out a few cabbies at kunhar.com.

Anybody knows what their G100/200/300 cost like?

i wont prefer kunhar products..

one fact is products manufactured here and abroad there is lot of difference in quality and finishing.... for example antec.... kunhar does not come close to it .

well it was surely in the mnth of feb ...

if it wasnt .. then it has to be march .. either of the two ...

(got my new PC towards the end of Jan .. and wen i saw that cabby .. then i was cribbin y didn this thing came beforehand.. so daz y i stil strongly believe it was in feb ... )

On another thought...y dont you go for a Lanboy w/o PSU (plain lanboy i.e. non-super :D).

It is similar to the SLK3000B (i think), costs less & comes with a transperent side panel.

I dont think its available in chennai or madurai. Online purchase might be possible from kunhar or contact them directly. Not sure about that. But i have searched nook and corner here. Those cabinets are simply not to be seen here.
