+1 for nano. except for a boot space this car is best for city usage. more spacious than its competitors and a cute tallboy design

Even I love the Nano but that car doesn't feel safe to me at all. Just my opinion. I guess that's because of being accustomed to the tank like build quality of FIAT.

chevrolet spark, alto 800
Stay away from anything Chevrolet by at least a huge light year.

I have a spark. And after facing air con problems for 3 years adn no replacement during warranty, they are now asking me to replace the compressor for 25k. Afte rspending around 5k every time for getting the aircon work done, about 15k later they ask me to shell out 25k...... horrible service. They just look for excuses to replace your parts.

Even my friend who owns a Beat is now facing engine problems just 1.5 years into his purchase. their CC and ass suck big time.

I recently bought the Celerio CNG Vxi. You must target the LXI. It's really a good VFM car. It's spacious and has a dash and steering right out of the Maruti Swift, making it feel like a much bigger and premium car. Also the Celerio is really refined and a good performer - Thanks to the Kseries engine it sports. Low on maintenance and great on mileage with a steady chassis that allows for some good triple digit cruising on good roads (Mumbai Pune expressway)

Pros:
Looks much better than other Maruti Cars in this price range.
Awesome FE
Good after sales service and resale value years from now.
Feels big in the interiors (Beige and black dual tone) and exteriors too. Thanks to the body designs and the 14" wheels.
Drive is peppy and refined.
Brakes have a really good bite.
It's just about 20k more than the WagonR but really really worth it. Rear seat can easily accommodate 3 healthy passengers!
Great ground clearance.
OHM and Really big Boot(y) :D
Some nifty safety features. (Maruti is improving)
Oils changes and maintenance interval is 10k kms.

Cons:
The A pillar is a bit too thick and can obstruct the view while taking a turn.
Accessories are missing to keep the price low. Almost everything needs to be purchased separately. (although this can be taken care of by negotiating) ;)
Rear wiper is only available on the Zxi variant. Not even as an option on other variants.

What safety features? AFAIK the VXi has nothing.

Well, I come from an age old Zen. So everything is a nifty feature.

For instance:
The Car will not start if the petrol/CNG inlet cap is left open.
The Kseries engine has metal belts rather than age old rubber belts.
The car wouldn't lock and will always leave a constant quiet beep sound in case the doors are open. (I know most cars do that, but the Auto cop on my Zen used to lock it even if door was partially locked)
The boot is also controlled from the driver seat. 17km/h and all the doors + boot door get locked automatically.

i went through the Celerio and other cars in that range in detail.
I would honestly ditch em all and get a second hand brio, swith, i10, i20, polo.

Please avoid the Hyundai variants for seconds. The refine factor for hyundai is not so great. My first car was a i10. and my current one is a Hyundai Sonata.

Brio. Bug eye looks.

Polo. It will be expensive to maintain. Seeing that you will be buying one AFTER the honeymoon period.

Swift. Get it. Maruti. Cheap to Maintain. Peppy Engine. Enough said.

i have eon magna+ which is the top model i bought a year ago quite good for the price the there is no options in this segment alto looks cheap and old and eon looks more stylish and pretty far good experience no problems so far. After visiting maruti and hundai showroom and checking the cars I became sure that i would go for eon.Plus no probs in servicing hyundai is now as mainstream as maruti and there are showrooms almost everywhere
