PC Peripherals New case req : Budget 4.5K - 5K MAX

zebronics Jamaica for 3~3.2k is the best bet if you do not mind the weight. Has ample HDD space and the cage is covered by a 120mm front blow and a side exhaust. There is only one rear 120mm exhaust, but there are two side blow. If you are looking for cabinet space, then look no further than this.

Net down- just here!!:p

2x120 at rear- hmmm- get P180!!:ashamed:

The ZB and clones have a side bracket for 2 fans but does the side panel have holes in it to suck in fresh air or those fans just recirculate the air inside??:S

Nah- not required IMHO:cool2: , after all your PSU will have intake and exhaust na!!
And if u got something like Antec TP2/3- thats your second 120 exhaust!!:p

The link at bottom shows my next budget cabby for b**ch Rig:p - Chieftec something- 3.5k or lower now- SLB on top!!
Had seen pics and though almost similar to ZB-01 and clones, has loads of super cool features!!
-Dedicated side intake fans for HDD cooling +intake filters!!
-Lockable side panel and maybe front too!!
- Tool less (Almost)!!
-Side vents for cpu and gfx card cooling!!
-USB and front audio connectors on right lower side of Bezel!!:eek:hyeah:
Better finish compared to ZB, from pics at least!!

Harshal Dada'a rig pics confirmed the decision!!

Three cheers for Harshal Dada!!:hap2:

Antec PlusviewII was 5.6-5.8k odd i think, at Prime, when available last.
Not sure of its availability now.
Won't be that great with the new gen supra Long gfx cards IMHO.
Though Stormblast has a X1900XT in the AMG1000, the original plusview- and i still dig that cabby.:p

SLB is just about ok with its stock fans, provided ur workspace is cool and ventilated.
Build Quality is at users discretion- a tad flimsy for my taste- but serves the purpose in form and functionality.
In certain cases, fitment of Big cpu cooler like TtBT might be an issue depending upon location of cpu socket on mobo.
i find my SLB a bit too cramped when i clean up my rig- had to screw out the Silent wheel fan at the rear to take out my A8NE then.
Should be less than 5k now.

(in fact even the Sonata/SonataII are quite good though mini towers- for one ODD, 2HDD at the max and if u arents fiddling very often coz then lack of extra room for big hands become an issue-- Build quality was top notch.)

A cheaper alternative might be the Antec SLK3700BQE for 3k or lower without the psu, if still available.
HDD placement similar to SLB and Sonata, freeing up space in the mobo area allowing more room for GPU.
More room above the mobo and decent build quality,so heavy and big hsf not an issue.

SLK3000B- less than 3k- similar to SLK3700BQE but regular HDD placement and no psu bundled along, so long gpu needs rearrangement of HDDs to accomodate GFX card.
Otherwise Better ventilation than SLB or 3700BQE using stock tricool120 rear fan and an optional 120 at front for all internals. ( i am in for major flames for this remark:ashamed: )
I had the 3700AMB which Anish has.

ZB-01/Jamaica is still the best bangs for the buck- provided judicious use of fans to maintain good airflow- huge, so loads of space inside, full ATX mobo looks like m-atx in pics:p- a bit too heavy and big for the Desk unless u got a desk like Switch.:p

There was a Chieftec cabby which Stormblast had posted on TE- 2 TE members(one of them was Harshal's friend i think) got that for 3.5k each- maybe lower now:eek:hyeah: - Looked like a good substitute- both in form and function to the ZB and clones.:)

Update-
searching threads on TE is not as cool now- cannot find that thread.
Heres the link for that specific model though-
External options-Welcome to Chieftec -New Chassis Announced
Internal features-The feature of BX series
If the build quality is good- best buy IMHO!!

^Thanks, Switch..
Vandy.. budget was mentioned in the thread title dude.. why recommend a 10K cabby then?

I said the stacker 810 for me.... not for you....:bleh:

The jamaica doesn't look good at all.... and I've seen around 100 of those cabbies and sold around 30 of them, while I wus at zebby...
Its a rebadged cabby is what it is, but a nice one if you want roomy and functional on a budget.

The SLB is a touch cramped for install as is the P180. btw the P180 is for around 8K. And the TX1050B isn't cramped, whoever said that (someone here did) is slightly wrong :p very nice cabby, and I'd have bought 1 from delta while i wus in chennai, but was already jam packed with luggage when I was leaving.... That cabby should be around 6K, maybe less, excellent build quality...

How essential is an intake fan anyway? That Chieftec case looks nice, but doesn't seem to have a 120mm intake fan...

2 80 mm fans cover more surface area and is more focussed than 1 120 mm fan. it is relatively more effective imho.(and i am not talking about the cfm alone) only drawback is the noise factor since 2 80 mm fans will make more noise then a single 120mm fan.

intake is very important since you need fresh cool air for effective cooling. otherwise the already hot air will recirculate inside the cabinet reducing the effectiveness of the hsf /coolers installed inside the cabbie.

It doesnt have a direct front 120mm intake like SLB but that would have been anyways severely blocked by the HDD cage due to which i have to use a hi cfm front 120 fan in my SLB as i work in a not so cool, non AC environ- else my SLB will be a hot tandoor!!
In fact i was planning a right side panel mod to fit fans for my SLB HDD bay but had backed off as i find the SLB quite flimsy!!:(
Then i saw the Chieftec!!:p

The 2 vents on left side panel, the 2x90 vents on right side panel for hdd are all intakes!!
And as long as u have fresh air coming in and hot air leaving from back, ur system will never be starved for cooling!!

Also the Chieftec with just one 120 rear and 2x90 for HDD will be ventilated enough IMHO!!

Also u have to seriously think on the desk space u have and where u will be keeping your cabby and decide accordingly!!
Also how often u fiddle with ur rig and other stuff has to be considered!!
Someone sold off his Stacker coz it was just too big for all the desks he had at home and he didnt prefer it below the desk!!:p

16kg........

Its more like 12~13Kg (Without carton and Packaging and PSU). Would be about 15Kg if you add a PSU. Its not as heavy as I first thought because I managed to told the entire box easily sitting on the back side of a bike while my friend drove. I used to have a mercury micro ATX which was 11 Kg in weight.
