District 13 a french movie, but action is as slick as it can get...

One of the best foreign action movies ever produced, imo.

And the fun is ruined if you don't watch it in original subs. The dubbed version sucks. A lot.

Here's some recommendations off the top of my head :P I know if I'll look at this list tomorrow I remember some more movies I've missed.

Identity

The Skeleton Key

Se7en

What Lies Beneath

Saw

Saw 2

The Sixth Sense

The Others

Fight Club

The Departed

The Usual Suspects

Minority Report

Memento

Final Destination series

Aliens (part 2 of the series), Alien Resurrection (part 4)

Planet Of The Apes

The Machinist

No Country For Old Men

The Bourne Series

Reservoir Dogs

Though you might not get into Shyamalan's movies if "slick action" is the key here :P

^How come you recommended Alien 2 and Alien 4 and not the original Alien ? IMO Alien1 was the most intense of the lot. Rest of the moves you mentioned are already in my list with an exception of few which I figured were not good enough. :P

The Movies which I recommended are mostly Thrillers with a hint of action in them or vice versa. I can recommend you full blown action movies too. The Likes of "crank" and "shoot em up" which other members recommended.

Anyways .... add some more to the list :

War of the worlds

Pans Labyrinth

Catch me if you can

King Kong

Mr & Mrs Smith

Munich

Babel

Children Of Men

Silence of the Lambs

Hannibal

Red Dragon

Hannibal Rising

Hotel Rwanda

United 93

Big Fish

Jeepers Creepers 1 & 2

City of God

Life is Beautiful

Big Nothing

L.A. Confidential

Blue Velvet

Taxi Driver

Traffic

Unforgiven

Natural Born Killers

Glengarry Glen Ross

etc....

IMO, Aliens' much better than the original Riddley Scott flick, action wise. :P

Sigourney Weaver at her best. :2guns:

Both of them won oscars as well. :O (Alien 3 was sick. :|)

Heard Saw 5 is coming. :)

BTW Params' list includes gross flicks as well. :P
