itz not worth to be frank.. use tat money to buy ram or hdd.. u can buy gaming mouse but key board itz jus show off..

No its not just for show off. They may not be that useful for everyone, but they are definitely not useless either.

Many gaming keyboards have extra macro keys which come useful not just in games but also in regular use. Further Back lit keys are a life saver when you work/play in dim light/night. My Ideazon Merc Stealth was totally worth it for me.

Instead of creating a new thread, leme put it here since its a relevant topic..

I have finally rounded up on these Gaming/Backlit Keyboards, ranging from the Lowest priced to the High end ones..though the features increase as u go higher i am not sure how much the VFM comes into picture.. so it would be great if few of u guys who have already used any of these KB's can give their inputs on the same

OCZ Illuminati
Saitek Eclipse I/II
Razer Arctosa
MS Sidewinder X6
Razer Lycosa
Logitech G110
Logitech G15
Saitek Cyborg
Also any inputs on their availability and pricing would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

sorry for delayed reply... hope this helps

They told me they got Keyboard but in godown etc would get after couple of days

some 3300-3400 bucks :D

best of luck

i know illuminated keys are damn too good :) & extra keys work great if you play games like dota & CS that too in state level or some national level gaming competitions.. Play pause email such keys will be worth it.. but other than that spending 3 - 5 k for key board is absurd...

plus let me tell you one more thing you will feel sad looking @ same old shit color keys either red or blue... So if at all yout spending heavily go but alienware keyboards which has over dozen of led back light

:p

@Kane

well normal has umm no leds lol when we dont get bored of that i dont think red n blue is issue then. its honestly not for the bling its for people who cant or dont want to switch lights at night n still want to work, tpye, mail, and game.

plus many games like crysis .... if u playing online u need moves like crouch+strafe+walk front...its only a gaming keyboard if i am correct let you give 3 and over as feedback .... so response time for not so serious gamers also is plus.

and in case u want multi lights there are Saitek Cyborg etc as options which can give u almost 16 shades of illumination it basically moves from Red - Green - Blue zone. so you can turn the knob to get lot of colors in that spectrum. but then thats for those who want that bling

Thanks antz123

for ur contribution, though unfortunately i missed it and i ended up buying a G15. I was preferrably looking for a Sidewinder but 80% of the shops in lammy dint have it and also the prices were nothing less than 4300. Since the diff. in G15 n Sidewinder was only 700 went ahead with the former.

Well i must say i am impressed with the features but the keys are not exactly the way i wanted it to be. I think Sidewinder has a much better set of keys. Any ways this is my first gaming keyboard, or rather the most expensive one i could ever imagine myself buying, so i ll only look at the + aspect of owning one n be happy about the features which G15 has tonnes to offer in :)

this is the point you buy expensive keyboard & turns out to be not expected then what ?? cry like a baby ?? if you want bling buy a good mouse.. If you really are a gamer you would not keep looking at keyboard lol :) even i can kill a bot with my key board & a gamer with led lights :p but having a mouse with higher dpi does make sence. I am so used to typing seriously i dont watch my key board my fingers judge perfectly which keys are where !! :).. it my P.O.V..

^^ No mate, ur wrong.. First, everything be it expensive or not, it has its own pros n cons. U cant really expect all the best features in the world just because ur paying a slightly hefty price for an above average keyboard. To be honest, my first experience on a gaming keyboard was amazing. After using a standard HP keyboard rigorously for past 5 yrs (its stil working in an amazing condition) I very well knew that ur basic purpose of using a keyboard can easily be sufficed by any sub 1k keyboard. But when it comes to features like backlit (which apart from looking nice, also is very helpful during night usage), macros n stuff, m sure its worth paying the extra premium for a good KB. Some times though u have to pay a little more cz of the scarce availability of such stuff locally..Again its just a matter of ones POV. For that matter I too and have achieved all my objectives using a 350rs Iball mouse, no need even for the higher DPI. :bleh:
