^^nice config...a gaming config...err where's the GPU???

u've set surreal targets for a gaming pc and the config for 50k lol...

I suggest u go for

Core i5 i750 @ 9.8k

Gigabyte P55 UD2 @ 6.8k

4GB Transcend DDR3 1333MHz @ 5k

BenQ G2220HD @ 8k

Gigabyte GM6880 Laser @ 0.8k

Logitech Multimedia Keyboard @ 0.6k

CM ELite 310 @ 1.6k

Corsair VX450W @ 4.1k

Seagate 1TB @ 4k

PowerColour HD5770 1GB GDDR5 V2 @ 9.9k

Total = Rs 50,600

Nice configuration there but i feel GPU should be more powerful.DX 11 is very new and will take some time to establish and I don't see any point in getting DX 11 at the cost of performance HD 4890/GTX 275 may offer. So go AMDs way:-
CPU - Phenom II X4 955 (9K)
Motherboard - Gigabyte MA785GMT-UD2H (5.5k)
Video card - MSI GTX 275 (13K)
PSU - Glacial Power AL650AA (4.6K) or Corsair VX 550(5.8k)
Rest go with above configuration.Another alternative would be to wait for Nvidea DX11 cards to launch. When that happens ATI DX11 prices should go down and you will also have cards from Nvidea to choose.

I would go with Comp@ddict's config as the HD 5770 can dispatch of most of the Dx 10 games effortlessly + its closest competitor Nvidia GTX 260 is more expensive at around 14K - 15K for same performance:)

and the ATI cards ae\re also more efficient compared to their Nvidia counterparts as of now

intel i7 920-14.5k

Gigabyte GA-P55-UD3R MB -11.7k

Transcend 4GB DDR3 1333MHz C9 - 5k

Seagate 1TB - 4k

GlacialPower 650W AA 4.6k

TOTAL~ 39.8k

@comp@ddict: my bad... didnt mention the GPU in my 'already hav list'... my HD5870 is on its way frm US which i ll get my hands on by feb end :asian:
rite now i hav my 8800gt wid me with which i can adjust for a month

and do read my post clearly ^_^
basically i gt everything other than
CPU
MOBO
RAM
PSU
HDD
and my 50k is for the above excluding the GPU and not the whole rig -_-

also, no change in i7 920 n UD3R...
also, i have cooler master Ammo 530... am thinking of going for CM690... but ll go for it only if its gonna make a huge and i mean HUGE diff in case of cooling and ease of use...

suggestions and price details needed bros :)

No. i7 920 should be used with X58 boards as it is socket LGA 1366. P55 boards have socket LGA 1156.
@Sumit05: why have u suggested a p55 board for i7 920?

COre i7 920 -- 14.2k

Gigabyte X58 UD3R/MSI X58 Pro E -- 11.7k/11.5k

6 GB GSkil Trident 1600 Mhz CL9 kit -- 9800/-

WD 1 TB BLACK -- 5.3k

Corsair 650/Cooler Master 700 Modular -- 7.5k.

Coming under 50k. So you can go for 6 GB 1600 Mhz CL8 or CL6 if you want.

core i7 920 D0 - 14k - GOOD

giga-byte x58/x58A UD3R or UD5 - ~13k - MSI service is pathetic, my X58 Pro conked off took ages to get replaced. 60 days to be precise. Gigabyte all the way. However Ud5 is better buy

Corsair DDR3 3 * 1GB 1600MHz - ~4k - Perfect if u plan to use 32 bit OS no need to beef up system uselessly

Corsair 700W PSU - ~7k - take HX 650 Corsair

WD 1TB ~4 - HDD if u dont have old one with u always have 2 in your system. In case one fails you should have back up

That was two cents on thoughts....... now as for rates

go to Itwares, or Primeabgb or Lynx and get idea on whats the market rates going

@antz: thx... any idea whats the price diff between ud3 n ud5...? some say the main diff between the two boards is only the 6ram slots and no performance/feature diff... any clue?

Ud3 has revised version now dont now about that

but when i was taking i went for UD5 as chipset coolers were considered better. that time needed two Lan ports which UD5 had.

Also it had on board Dolby sound, error LED's, Power,Reset and Clrmos on buttons. Was tweaking and ws mostly on work bench so made sense to me. the UD5 has a 12 phase power on the CPU and also it had 10 sata connectors. and some layout differences:)

plus not that i would go for a 3way SLI but Ud5 supports that

this all is to state differences, most of these things you might not need so my oversight in suggesting. Howevr TE deal u have i7+UD7 for 34K worth a look. UD7 supports USB3

Oh yes most important ...UD3 previously the south bridge had a bulky heatsink. I am not aware what new version have. But with that chunky heatsink ... X1 slot was pretty useless for any card. So SLI for me was out of question.

UD5 has slimmer heatsink n this issue was sorted

ud7 - i understand... but saving bucks to pay for my 5870 which i bought via CC :D

me hopin if ud3/ud5 price diff s aint much(hoping nt more dan 2k) , ll go for ud5...

g skill /corsair 1600mhz - which one better?
corsair - all ways my fav...

@OP:

They have given you most of the options....I would suggest this, since you also want to save money.

1. Pick the cheapest non-Intel X58 motherboard.

2. Pick 1600Mhz -- 3 DIMMS x 2 GB memory. Do not go for 3 DIMMS x 1 GB memory. Later on if you want to go > 4 GB, you will not know what to do with those 1 GB modules. Better to have all modules with same density and speed.

3. Choose a good Corsair 550W PSU. IF you want over head (but most of it will never be used) go for a 650W unit.

A few better prices that I was quoted at Pavan Computers, SP Road

i7 920 - 13550

UD3R - 11500

UD5 - 16800

TX750 - 6850

XMS3 DDR3 1600 6GB Kit - 10150 (dont know the timings)

+4% VAT

Hope it helps !.
