hyeah:Whats the scoop on the MSI P35 Platinum? Ignoring the DDR3 RAM that comes with the package... I can't seem to get any definitive answer as to whether its actually a better board than the Gigabyte P35-Dq6 that I'm interested in.
I know DDR3 kicks a$$ but I'd rather spend on a better MoBo as opposed to super-expensive memory....also wouldnt mind the price reduction which I could use somewhere else.
From what I've found out so far - this is what I'm leaning towards
E6750 @ 8k
P35-DQ6 @ 13k
2900xt or pro @ around 12k
Scythe Infinity @ 45 USD + shipping = 2.5k approx
2GB DDR2-800 @ 9k
HDD @ 3k
Misc @ 10k
Works out to around 60k
The monitor etc. can wait for now and I dont intend to spend on a fancy keyboard or mouse either.
Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on any of the above.
