Ok.:)

I am fed up of MTNL and it's poor reception.:D
I do not afford to have my cellphone down with poor network the same time as my Landline- which is bad most of the time.

I will be getting a prepaid connection as i have abused my postpaid connection real bad in the past and gone broke badly.:ashamed:

I usually give missed calls now:ashamed: - and most friends are on Hutch.
And i only talk or sms- anyways both the operators are pretty even when it comes to other services offered.

So if Hutch to Hutch is cheaper than Hutch to Airtel, then moving to Hutch should be wiser as it will be cheaper for friends who call back.:P

But last year i had some friends in the suburbs move to Airtel from Hutch due to the poor connectivity of the latter.:S

So please vote- Hutch or Airtel??:P

Edit: Mainly for Mumbai people.:cool2:

Hutch has started to suck badly. Dad is on the hutch, he has taken a secondary airtel connection bcoz of problems on hutch.

My entire family is on airtel now. No complains. All are postpaid BTW.

Hutch is overhyped.

If you are going for billing, select the correct plan on airtel and you are good to go. No major problems with them for long time.

Also i travel a lot, and airtel has better home network coverage outside mumbai, so thats added bonus for me.

do u want gsm only?? you shld check out reliance (if u can live the handsets)...they have good service n some decent plans...

hutch hearin a lot of poor reception...but for airtel u have poor cc support 19 mins i have to hang the phone jus to talk to hear hello frm operater......

btw i suggest join hutch mumbai community on orkut.....and see which plan suits u.....also if u have somone working in reliance at koparkhairne u can have some gr8 plan frm hutch...

bikeyboy, the more you discuss, the more you will get confused. get the hutch postpaid which is the best. ive got TALK399 plan where 399is rent, 75clip charges. basically 475 rent a month and you get 1000 mins hutch to hutch free. hutch to others 0.60. free 1000 SMS hutch to hutch. other network 0.10 so its fully vasool if all of ur friends got hutch. it will b like an intercom as you will get 1000 sms and 1000 calls free every month :P totally bang for bux..
BTW i vote for HUTCH

BIkey, no way you should be going for Airtel. Hutch wins hands down. The Airtel network sux like anything. As you say, you got most of your friends on Hutch, get the 30 p H2H calling scheme plus activate the 25 Rs / Month cellphone calling scheme which gives you a calling rate of 99 p to cellphones in Mumbai and Maharashtra( except BSNL but MTNL mumbai included)

Hutch

Charges are not an issue. Both companies have good packages.

As far as i am concerned, come over to busy suburban areas during peak evening time and its impossible to make calls from my dad;s hutch phone. Have to redial 7-8 times to get through or you get stupid network busy error.

Specially in Andheri-JVPD -Irla area.

Call drops also happens a lot in this area.

Half the staff where i work dumped hutch for this reason.

That's why this dilemna- Hutch users group vs better network.:(

Plus Airtel is offerring lotsa free talktime mins with cheap phones and all i afford is a cheap phone and about time i returned the free phone lent by a friend.:P

But i don't like cheap phones.:ashamed:

Gotta check with Hutch for any offers.:P

Confusion.

im on hutch billing since ages now bikey. there were problems which Funky talks about but havent encountered any issues recently. no voice breaking , or call drops as earlier. sometimes network is busy but gets through on 2nd or 3rd redial.

i would say go for hutch. lots of plans also to choose from.
