i wanna purchase new hdd's for my rig. i was thinking of 2 36 gig raptors in raid and sata 2 hitachi 250gb
could tell the prices or any better choice

For both HDD's :bleh: U get it I'll pay cash now...right now!!! you've missworded it is all....

Yeah go for storage space..moreover those raptors aren't as good as they're touted to be....besides 76 something gigs will be less trust me....

I am going for hitachi as well...freakin fast HDD's (thanks TE members) and will be going for that identical model..

the hitachi isnt available , they had wd cavier sata2, is that good

he told me the price as 7.2k, is it ok

See Hitachi's T7K and WD's SATA 2 caviars alongwith Maxtors DM 10 series are all very close performance wise...hell even a 160 gig samsung is fast, just that benchy wise will be slower....

Also SS doesn't have 250 gig SATA's on their website (Am i wrong??? haven't checked recently)...

go for either of the 3 mentioned above

Got My HITACHI T7K SATAII 250 GB for 6.3K

Anyway,they come in default SATA 1 native format......u do the SATA 2 conversion LTR!
