Hi Guys,

My dad is gonna be in Dubai in a couple of weeks and he wants to buy a laptop and asked me for suggestions. I don't have the least idea about laptops. Any suggestions within that budget? It's gonna be basically for general home use, surfing, MS office etc.

EDIT: Budget update - $1000. So... recommendations?
 
There was a offer for the dell netbook for 1299 AED, Donu if this offer is still running.. This was about 2-3 months back
 
I hope that was a typo, you cannot get even a third hand laptop in proper working condition for $100.
 
Hey like I said, I have no idea abt lappies. But isn't electronic stuff cheap in Dubai? Anybody living in/recently been to Dubai?

Budget Update: It's $1000, not $100. Sorry. Not used to "thinking" in dollars and didn't even do the conversion to INR. :D Anyway, some suggestions now please. :)
 
not much difference between Dubai and Indian price (I have checked out in Duty free alone, dont know about outside prices)....so purchase it here itself...
 
Thanks to whoever changed the thread title. :) Couldn't figure out how/if I wld be able to do that. :D

Anyway, I think my dad just wants to use up his foreign currency there before he gets here. :D Either ways, the question is what would you recommend he purchase, not where. Thanks. :)
