Market Feedback New members spamming to get into the market section

Well, again another topic which has been discussed to lengths before and which will end up soon with a reply from the mods "It can't be eliminated, we can't check and verify each and every post". So i won't ask the mods to. But maybe the other members can. The ones who are here not because of the market, but for the reason TE was started. I am just asking, is it possible for the mods, to clean the spam posts by a member if it can be seen easily and reported by other members ? Or just let it pass by ? Though i don't deal much in the General Market, i just don't want people coming to TE for the market.

For eg. take this dude. kanishk619

I mean, if he had posted in one or two threads, i wouldn't have felt so annoyed. But just look at this. Top to bottom, nearly all threads been bumped by him with posts like, & i quote

yeah +1111

yeah + 1111 (yep, it's twice)

hooooohhooye :O

thanx .... ,,

yeah + 1111 (EDIT : There's another one. HE has switched to CPU/Mobo Corner now :P)

All i want to know is that if members report such spammers, will the mods look into it ?
 
Obviously, some people will remain stupid, and this guy is a case of classic spamming behaviour. Apart from what the mods do with this particular person, here's the thing.

I joined TE *only* for the market. The fact is I liked it here and hung around and made a bunch of friends and learned a lot myself, and hopefully helped a few people along. But the initial reason I joined is because I had some surplus stuff and I needed to get rid of it. My first or second thread was a sale thread, really :)

The problem is amount of fraud and bogus sales going on, this has undermined the community itself. People who spam like that don't deserve to be on any community (let alone TE). I suppose you could report the spammer, and mods will take whatever action they see fit (an infraction should bring the less stubborn ones in line, I think).

I would take a careful look at this poster IP as well, and compare it with known spammers and conmen (there are quite a few erstwhile members who made a career out of duping people). In general for market transactions it is wise to only deal with people who are no more than a few (one or two) circles of influence away.

Absolutely my point. Well, in words of a new "friend" of mine, yeah +1111....:rofl:

Well i would request all members to help the community by reporting such spammers if they see. Though most cannot be caught, some try to hide their crimes in plain sight :P
 
Other than this guy's concern about entering Market section.
In TE one will receive advice/help even if he has 0 posts. Postcount doesn't matter.
 
Well, if his post's make sense then there is nothing wrong with it.

But if they are like very short or complete non-sense I think the best thing would be to give him a warning or a ban from the market section for a month (or w/e)

PS ~ Just went through his posts in the Gaming section. Utter non sense. I think he deserves a warning.
 
I dont think thats spamming. He is just posting in the gaming section if you see. if it would have been indiscriminate then probably.

Has anyone even checked as to what that guy has posted? I have. Check and see for yourself.

Kanishk619 has posted all revelant replies depends on the topic of the thread.
This is not called as spamming.

But i am sure Kanishk619 has posted so many replies because he wanted to access Market section

But i do agree with Pheonix.Few guys joins TE and starts spamming just to enter Market section.

Such ppl shud be directly banned

yea, if u dont spam( or talk off topic), then downside is ur post count will not increase unless ur a super geek and know everything!

see mine for example 300 odd posts in 3 yrs, despite logging in everyday!

but my favourite section here is general talk:P
 
This is a tech froum where people come to learn/know things buying and selling is ok but i think thats not what we are here for hope you agree
 
^^ Why dont you guys use the report post functions. Its a very effective way to let the mods know.

i use the same...
if someone is spamming or using threads for chatting with each other off topic... (:@) then i do report each n every such of a post in that thread :P

yes mods do take care of it within minutes :)
its very effective as (i think) they also warn the member hence such things are avoided at least by the warned members.
 
Idea:

When Member Reaches the minimum post (for Entering Market Section) a request of that particular username should be auto generated and goes to the mods for approval.after the approval ( By just checking the previous post ) from the mods they will be allowed to enter Market Section. I know its Little work for the mods.. or Mods can appoint Good people who can do this approval only.
 
And people keep in mind, I have deleted 17-18 posts of his. Thats why now his profile only shows relevant posts :P

it was classic case of spamming.

..aren't spam posts as per you then I would like to know your definition of spamming.

Infact half of his posts even have been deleted actually. Can't find them anymore. So maybe that says it all!

(Even I exactly wrote what SharekhaN did but after you go through that guy's replies you will find it real funny what he's written)
