hmmm i think i've to get this the KMD way..

Cabinet shipping = expensive. If you do get a quote though, please do post here. Doesn't make sense then IMO, read Aces170's post.

@Rishi87
True. The Lexa Blackline Red w/ glossy black finish is the only one available here AFAIK.

i think you all are right as cases are heavy about 10kgs shipping can cost me nightmares...

anyways i've asked KMD for the quote, will post here as i get it...

i really dont understand what all this big fuss is about. as i already mentioned earlier, the only diff i see in the original tempest & this new 1 is black interiors & different fans.

just buy the original tempest & get the interiors done from kmd. i think it can be done easily for under 1000rs.

At that range why dont you check out Lian Li budget range (Lancool series) K62 seems to be really a nice deal at 6.9k...

Actually... as Aces170 said... after looking at K62's features, I don't see any reason why would anyone go for Tempest EVO for that price, unless off-course one wants to use watercooling with internal rad or for the looks.

I usually refrain from commenting in competing threads, but just to point out (do correct me if i got what u said wrongly)

Err....K6 has watercooling holes and can accept internal Dual-140mm Rads :P on top or the bottom like this

Yes PhONiX, I'm aware of 140mm rads and watercooling holes... and I agree I should have been more descriptive on my statement. What I meant was, mounting (widely used) 120mm rads in fixed position is slightly overlooked in K62, but if you got or want to use 140mm RADS it's a breeze.

You got it correctly, it was my mistake of writing it so short and making it easy to mis-understand about K62's watercooling compatibility. Thanks for clearing that up.

Apart from that K62 is the most amazing case I've ever came across for the features it offers at it's price. I'm eyeing one since long, but trying to hold my temptation till next upgrade cycle. :)

EDIT:

Just noticed something in the photo you posted... is the HDD rack removable? or the owner of that photo modded his cabby to remove it?

+1
The whole point of the Tempest, and indeed all of the NZXT range is a decent case, decent looks and average build quality for a really low price. If it costs more than the current tempest, which it almost certainly will, it's not worth it anymore IMO. If its there as a new model altogether, its pretty pointless, though as a replacement, it makes sense.

yeah ..and at the end of the vid, the hdd falls from the locking tray :P

i am confused between k62, Tempest EVO... i don't even want to buy..i'm trying to resist the temptation but still confused.... :ashamed: :P

looking at both the cabinets i feel both are evenly matched. but i feel the build quality of the lian li could be better. with that said the tempest has more hdd options & 2 x 120mm front fans.

both of them are going to perform equally good i feel. it just comes down to personal preference & the kind of usage you want it for. if u gonna use many hdd's then i would suggest tempest.

let me list a few features...
1)Seperate ventilation holes in the bottom for PSU which is not there in original tempest.
2)Fan Upgraded from 7 blades to 9.also,the color of the blades is white.
3)the other side panel i.e. the one without the plexi glass has a design so that you can hide thick cables behind the motherboard tray..
4)not to mention the black interiors.

here's the reply that i got from KMD

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811146062
$109.99 + $0 (US Shipping to NY) + $0 (NY Tax) = $ 109.99
Shipping weight = 27lbs
Price = Rs. 14,500/-

Local shipping @ actuals from Mumbai to your place will be extra

I won't really be able to get discounts for multiple orders on this .. Since its a very heavy product.

Lol at 14k its not worth it all, you will get a Lian Li locally through Phoenix at that price. CM 690 v 2.0 doesnt look that enticing either. I think at that price range Lancool K62 is the best bet..

14.5k..

lol

i now find tempest evo better than k62 (yeah darky :P )

my reasons for Tempest EVO over Lancool K62:-

A little wider ...more room for PCI-e card.

More number of fans (4x 120mm, 2x 140mm)

Extra removable HDD cage to accommodate 8 HDDs as compared tot 4 in k62

Cheaper than k62

K62 has following advantages though:-

Better screwless system than EVO

Better cable management possibilities than EVO

3yr warranty (don't know how much NZXT offers :ashamed: :P )

@Madnav: Actually... that would be 3x140mm fans for K62, two on top and one in front. And personally I find it better, as a good set of 140mm fans can get better airflow compared to 120mm, or even if we are talking same airflow from 140mm fan as 120mm, there is another plus point of 140mm being more silent than 120mm at same airflow.

I do agree however about number of HDDs being less in K62, but from strictly personal viewpoint, I don't have need for more than 3 HDDs (currently I've 4, out of which I'm planning to replace two with one).

Cheaper than K62? What's the street price on Tempest Evo here? Did I miss something?

price difference at newegg was $20 more for k62 ..but they have offer $30 off so its $10 cheaper than tempest evo now :P

yeah 140mm is better than 120mm.. but there are 2x 120mm for front intake..one extra 120mm at side panel...

most people will even do away with the hdd bays but the length of the cabinet was a little to worry about..

K62

TempestEVO

same mobo is used in both cases, the difference between the board and the drive cage is as small as it is in my zebronics bijli in case of K62.
