@ x86, sure x1900xt would kick the 7800gt where it hurts, but since he brought in the value for money thing, why should he spend $500 on a card which won't even do all of vista's eyecandy?
I suppose even a mid range DX10 128mb card ( $200) at that time would make vista look better than the x1900xtx.
 
Well... Look at funky's deal... 3700 is 1MB cache and an opty 144 doesnt come close to that... Cause it surely clocks 2.9G... You wont be sure with a opty 144...

Yes something like the 6800GS, x1600xt but F.E.A.R is a totally different ball-game.

well who cares vista xp pro wud kick here till next 3/4 years 4 sure.
and yea since sm4.0 and dx 10 on horizon game fully spporting it and stuffs wud take 2 years
x1900xt is the best.
all i was saying tht if he is buying a 24k card 7800gt u shud not he get a 29k only 5k difference.
