24" would be better considering the HTPC role and the fact that the resolution remains the same.
then i am bit tight on budget...should i go for amd rig then? can you suggest amd rig mate?

Simply go for the 22" monitor then. =|
Also, for a gaming RIG (standalone) AMD is a strict no.
which 1 of these motherboard i should get for overclocking?
1. Asus maximus V gene
2. ASUS P8Z77-V
3. GIGABYTE-Z77X-UD3H
and if i get v gene is the m-atx form factor will create any problem?
Maybe for components placement and addition of hardware will be curtailed by the number of connectors you have at hand.
addition of hardware means if i use 2 graphics cards there will be no place for any sound card?
then which board do you suggest?? i am looking for board which got good on-board sound.
@ALPHA17 i dont wanna invest on sound card right now...maybe in 3-4 months i will...
is the gigabyte board good for overclocking?? or should i get the asus board ASUS P8Z77-V(not PRO)
