My new Saitek keyboard works on anothe computer I have but not on the one I want it to. When machine boots I get the keyboard not present or not supported error. It is usb and I tried it in usb port & ps2 with an adapter w/ same results.I have used both usb & ps2 keyboards before plugging it in (not at the same time of course). Any clues why this would be?

PS/2 and USB signalling differ for keyboards. If you use a keyboard convertor that converts USB to PS/2, you need to check whether the keyboard supports PS/2 signalling also. i.e. simply using a USB to PS/2 convertor will not work for all keyboards. You need to check this at the manufacturers' website.
Is your USB controller option enabled in BIOS? I don't see why it should not be detected otherwise. Maybe you can try a different USB port but I'm sure you would have done that already

.USB is enabled in bios. All other USB devices work. If I leave my old ps2 keyboard pluged in my usb keyoard works. I don't know if it makes any difference but I noticed that the keyboard is USB 1.0. I don't think it does because new USB cards/ports accept any version of USB, current and past. Any ideas, anyone?
