Hello,

Just got a new WD10EADS-00L5B1.

The disk manager shows it as only 30 mb under windows XP-SP3

What could be the problem

please help

Disk manager in SP3 has a bug I suspect. My 500gb HDD was shown as a 2.5TB HDD right after a format!!!! Nothing wrong with the HDD, another format and it was all right :).

Hi,

Even the bios shows 33 mb capacity for this drive.

please help
 
Could you check with disk management if it's initialized properly ??

(Type diskmgmt.msc in the run dialog box)

Guys,

There was a factory limit set on this drive.
I used a tool called as HDD capacity restore to reset this capacity, now doing WD extended test.

I am not sure why would WD do such things.
