Its out guys. The Windows Live Wave 3 (2009) is out. This time round, the newest addition to the Windows Live brand is the Movie Maker, making way for its exclusion from Windows 7 more likely.

The apps included in this Wave 3 launch are -
Messenger beta - Windows Live

Download the suite from this link. Downloads - Windows Live

Love the new minimalistic UI of Mail and Photo Gallery. Although Photo Gallery is hogging 50% of the CPU for me. Well my collections has over 11000 pics. But the previous Photo Gallery did not have any such issues.
Messenger also looks good, although there is still a lot of work to be done.
The Calendar sync is awesome! Makes Microsoft's Cloud Computing service much better and attractive!

No one here uses Windows Live services?

I am facing a 50% plus CPU usage on the Photo gallery, any body experiencing similar problems?

what proccy do u have? ..
these live suites are nothing but system hogs, afaik they are just remade with better eye candy :|

I have an AMD X2 5600+.

Eye Candy?
Dude check the new feature list for this release. Except for Messenger, Photo Gallery and Live Mail ( the only 3 live products of this suite which i use) both have received excellent feature updates!

Photo Gallery is looking amazing, but for that bug :(
The bug is known to the Live team, so once its fixed, Photo Gallery stands to become an even better photo organizer tool.

photo gallery, writer are what i like and use....

but since gmail has imap.. and msn interface is sleak.. i might try msn messenger and mail....

Strange, hasnot crashed for me even once!

If all you're going to do is change your theme, display picture and chat with people, I have doubts it'll crash. ;)

Do some real BETA work, then it gets interesting.

Tried sharing screenshots just by pasting the output of the prtscn button? Or sharing photos with your friend?
How about the group contact?
I have used it as much as i can, but it has not crashed for me.
Yes, Mail has crashed on me often, even without using it extensively.

... Like I said, real beta testing. Not that "in your face" rubbish. :P

Well, what would you call real beta testing in a messenger then? I would like to get enlightened.

I cannot use Multiple Device Sign In feature as i have only one computer with me.

Multiple device sign in feature, by which you mean signing into one account simultaneously from different places?

I have a couple of words for you for that. Miranda, Pidgin, Trillian.

:P

And by real beta testing, I mean exploiting the new features. They've added a lot of stuff to the new software, they've written a lot of new code and added a lot of more features and modules to it. Customize it, see if you can find a security flaw in there, see if you can get a user to download a file from your system without him getting to know about it, see if you can extract more than the required data from a user's profile.

Things like that.

Not testing out rubbish like, "YAY VOICE CALL WORKS!" and "FILE TRANSFER WORKS!" and "WINKS AND NUDGES WORK!"

So since other messengers have this, you should not be adding the same features?

So you mean beta testing should mean exploiting the new features and trying to see how the software does not work like it should? Is that all you understand by beta testing?
Security flaws : There are pros out there who are doing such stuff and ready to jump on MS's chest as soon as they find something of this sort. I am no Security expert, don't even know how to do such stuff. Although, since you are talking about real beta testing, i believe you are taking care of this department.
As to your saying they have added new features to messenger, i have been pretty dissapointed with the feature addition for messenger. Have no seen any useful new feature. Care to share some of the ones you liked?

Stop getting sensitive. :P

This being a technology forum, beta testing should be an in depth discussion, but I won't get into that. Since you're not a security whiz, you're obviously not going to be doing all that, you'll test out whatever you can.

My comment to your original post was... not to be taken so seriously. :P
