Ok so we had a thread some time back on newegg china. So i thought why not test it out. I opened the Newegg China homepage and everything in Chinese. Coundn't understand a word. So took help of google and got each page translated in english. I had to first register at the website but it was a pain navigating because of the language. Still managed to get hold of the registration page by hovering the mouse over the links and checking the status bar. I spotted
www.neweggxxxxxxxx/newuserxxxx
So go myself registered here and selected the city as Shanghai. Mind you everything is in Chinese. City selection was a problem since it was drop down list and copying the text from this is not possible. So using the google translate, first found out the equivalent script of Shanghai in Chinese and selected the city and gave my office address.
Till now alls fine :hap2:
Now i had to order something, but what, since this was a trial i wanted to buy something cheap. Had a look around (dont forget that i converted almost all the pages). I selected a Dual Layer DVD-R costing 7 RMB.
Although i was converting the pages to english, it was not possible to operate the site in this english version so was switching between eng and chinese versions and finding my way.
So selected one Dual Layer DVD-R of Ritek company, costing 7 RMB, now came the shipping screen.
Where do i am make the payment ???
I saw various options and against one it was written 0.00 RMB. I selected this
hyeah: But first i wanted to verify what it is, so translated the text in google and whoa what did i find
CASH ON DELIVERY !!!!! :hap2: :hap2:
Yes they have COD for Shanghai folks :bleh: :bleh:
I promptly placed my order and got a mail (all in chinese). This was done on 31st May. I was like, i ordered stuff of only 7 RMB and still they would deliver for free and that too i have not paid anything from my pocket.
In the last two days i have been regularly getting mails from them about the status of my order. Just 2 hrs back got a call from a guy, speaking in chinese, i said english english but he did not understand, so picked one of my chinki colleague and told him to speak with that guy.
Whoa the newegg guy was at the reception of my building.
Promptly went there, paid him 7 RMB and took the DVD-R DL. It came in a box twice in size and packaged neatly with bill and all.
The best part about this website is that the rates are quiet competitive and ordering stuff is easy. The only problem is the language where google can help.
Just copy the link of the product, paste in google and search and it will give you the exact page (most of the pages are indexed) and just do a TRANSLATE THIS PAGE...and you are off
Awesome experience
