Manufacturers like HTC , Samsung and LG have already announced their flagship smartphones sporting quad-core processors , but the quad-core smartphone competition is expected to heat up in Q4 with more devices coming with Qualcomm's quad-core chips and the much speculated iPhone 4 .

Apple iPhone 5 is rumored to launch with Samsung's Exynos 4 quad-core processor , which will heat up the competition in the segment .

Qualcomm plans to begin volume production of its quad-core integrated platform solutions in the second half of the year, which will enable more vendors to bring out competitive quad-core models

iPhone 5 may be Quad core but i dont believe Apple goes by the Sammy's proccy.
 
Yep, they use ARM right?
But how quick could it get?! The 4s is fast enough as it is!

How can you say that, the storage memory and DDR RAM used by the iPhone4 is manufactured by Samsung. Here is the cost breakdown of the iPhone4.

Thanks for the update, Sire. Talk about blurry boundaries in business, you buy your hardware from them and later sue them for copyright infringement.

iPhone has something inscribed on its back panel. "Assembled in China.Designed in California. " Don't remember the exact wordings. :P

What would they write now ? "Assembled i China. Designed by Samsung"

Samsung is a conglomerate, apple has partnerships with different departments/subsidiaries of Samsung
 
This doesn't come as a surprise. After the death of Steve Jobs, the market has accelerated so fast that Apple will be forced to make some drastic decisions!

Samsung has been manufacturing all the iPhone & iPad processors starting from the A4 to the A5x and it will continue to do so.
So this news is no surprise
 
If its going to be a quad core then the price surely would be quadrupled(4X the manufacturing cost)
