The Nexus 10 is official at last, and it's just as fantastic as we all thought it would be. The Samsung-made 10" tablet packs an iPad-destroying 2560x1600, 10.1" display for 300ppi, which is known in the scientific community as "more pixels than your eye can handle. The slate will also ship with Android 4.2, and the updated Nexus 7-like UI.
In addition, the tablet boasts up to nine hours of video playback and 500 hours of standby time. Just to make sure you're aware that this thing is designed for consuming media, it comes with front-facing stereo speakers. This thing is sounding pretty dang nice. Especially for a $400 price point.​
It also includes one of the features we uncovered in Android 4.2: multiple user support. According to Google:​

But what makes Nexus 10 unique is that it's the first truly shareable tablet. With Android 4.2, you can add multiple users and switch between them instantly right from the lockscreen. We believe that everyone should have quick and easy access to their own stuff -- email, apps, bookmarks, and more. That way, everyone can have their own home screens, their own music, and even their own high scores.​

We couldn't agree more, Google. The device will be available at $399 for the 16GB model, and $499 for a 32GB model. The tablet will go on sale on November 13th simultaneously in the U.S., U.K., Australia, France, Germany, Spain, Canada and Japan.

When i read this post of your`s @ honest1 , i actually said WTF and this will be a bomb in the tablet market. Hope it comes with a Q-Core and with option for Expandable storage.
 
300$ for nexus 7 with HSPA+ should be good for Indian consumers where there is a dearth of wifi in public places.
 
I was thinking of getting a 20k'ish laptop for my dad. I might just get this for him this December from UK. With the multiple user support I too can make use of it.

A tablet is not really a replacement for laptop for most productive tasks (i know many will say they use it for productive purpose). So it is better to ascertain what need the laptop was going to serve to your dad and whether the same will be served by a tablet ?
Also if it involves lot of typing then using touch screen keyboards can be frustrating.

It comes with Samsung latest A15 dual core processor 1.7 ghz & T601 gpu but it blows out quad core krait proccy & Adreno 320 by healthy margin.
Nexus don't have expandable storage be its 4,7 or 10.
 
@honest1 funny how you did not find the comment above that lacking value to the board.

Anyways,coming on to this tablet i believe the screen resolution would be a waste if Google doesn't take effort to bake the apps as to take advantage of that wonderful hardware.
Unless they do that they will be a lot behind ios in the tablet game and the ipad will remain unmoved for quite an amount of time.

It does look a lot ugly though i will give it that.The whole design just reeks of designing to avoid a lawsuit.

Impressive specs are of no use until they apps release using those specs.

I, for one, cannot seem to understand the purpose of squeezing so many pixels into a small 10" frame. In normal usage, it is quite difficult to see the difference between an iPad 2 and iPad 3. It is there, but only when I strain to find the difference. And that too, only with text.

Marketing gimmicks to make people want the latest and greatest thing. I could also not find any difference between iPad 2 and 3 by looking at the screen and hence i bought an iPad 2 instead. Some people told me to look at iBooks or something else but if the thing is not evident by looking at the iPad the way i usually do then those hifi terms don't matter to me.

Yes, in the iSheep universe. I am myself an iOS user owning iPhones and iPad but that does not mean all iProducts are the best and everything else is bad, give them a chance to come up to the competition.

I too would like to see google push more tablet optimized apps rather than stretchy android phone apps.
 
So android needed 2gb ram and a quad core to get everything responsive ha ha ..they still end up playing games which are two year old.. not a supporter of IOS but I have to say everything about IOS is quality.. sadly in android I spend 30k on my phone and just drool at the games I see on IOS

the Quad Core and 2GB comes in handy when you have better (true) multi-tasking and .. say you wanna install Ubuntu on it .. \m/

If you wanna play games go buy a PSP .. :P
 
Anyway nexus 10 does have a lovely display it will introduce us to a new year of all phones going full hd with 440ppi ..and especially new a15 processors..
