The cycle of smartphone manufacturers haplessly trying to update their devices to a newer version of Android, with Google releasing newer versions at the same time never seems to end. In Brazil, a Nexus 4 pops up with a new version of Android 4.2. In addition, LG's flagship smartphone, the LG Optimus G which had launched on an ancient Android 4.0 ICS, is finally getting it's (long over due) Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update.

Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean on the Nexus 4

Android 4.2.2 seems to be just a minor update to the Android 4.2.1 (quickly updated from Android 4.2) Jelly Bean OS that Google's most recent Nexus line up is running on. This new update won't be much other than an update with bug fixes, although we are really hoping for Google to fix the Nexus 4 and low benchmark scores (in some) on the Android 4.2 OS.

Rest assured, we won't be seeing this version of Android on any other manufacturer's smartphone for months to come.

LG Optimus G finally getting Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update...

...in Korea

It seems that LG is finally doing the right thing, and that is to provide their smartphones with software updates. Having completely neglected their first quad core smartphone (the LG Optimus 4X HD, which is stuck on Android 4.0 ICS and that is really, really sad) in the field of Android software updates, LG has finally released their Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for their present (and 2nd generation quad core, as they like to call it) flagship, the LG Optimus G.

Now here's the catch. The update is only rolling out in Korea at present, however expect the update to go global soon!
