Guys my HTC One V gave up last week and I am going without a smartphone since a week so need a phone urgently. Tried for Xiaomi Mi3 but couldnt grab one so final call is between HTC Desire 816 and Nexus 5. Please suggest which one should I go for. I am in double mind - case of mind versus heart.

I have noticed following pros and cons in both

Nexus 5
pros

-has a class of its own
-guaranteed android update
-blazing fast hardware

cons
-battery life as reported
-nearing its end of life cycle
-camera not great as per owners & no sd card which may cause one to loose data if eventually the phone suddenly gives up.

HTC Desire 816
pros
13MP + 5MP BSI camera combo
dual speakers
looks + htc sense 6.0

cons
same processor now in 6000 rupees Redmi 1S.
hardware config not so great
priced at 23k

Please help asap. I need to make an urgent purchase. And is it ok to buy Nexus 5 from local mobile stores?

please suggest one. max budget 30k

HTC 816 is good and Nexus 5 is excellent and far better. The only -ve in Nexus 5 is truly average battery life. It's far better to go for LG G2 at 27k. It's re-skinned Nexus with awesome battery life. Currently your best bet will be to get your hands on OnePlus One available through Amazon.in for 22k, but you need an invite to buy it.

Heating means no throttling used, no heating means throttling kicks in earlier so less performance after a certain point.

Sony & htc from what i can see do not use throttling as much as Samsung. If your device heats up then underclock it.

Heating is good when you live in cold countries, otherwise we have no need for hand warmers.

had bought htc 816 & am happy.. ovnly downer for me is less internal storage & missing dual active feature..
I had htc 816 , i could receive calls on both the sims, no need for any change of settings.
I think all dual mobiles that are in the market have this feature. At least i can confirm about htc one (E8),htc 816, 820, samsung grand 1, micromax turbo.
I have used these dual sim mobiles, and each one had that feature.[DOUBLEPOST=1420269013][/DOUBLEPOST]
It means you can recieve calls on either sim with both active no need to set the other on standby. Most dual sim phones are dual standby.
Kindly, check my previous msg.

Basically,I meant dual standby phones are enough for normal usage.
Only heavy callers need dual active phone, like share brokers etc.
Say you have two numbers for different purposes and would like to have both active. Like mulitple email addresses. Now if you don't receive calls on either then you can get away with dual standby.

The only reason dual active isn't offered is price. You won't see it on entry level models. At least not yet.
