err
do not equate more cores = more battery usage
a single core running at 1.5GHz may still consume more than 2 running at 1GHz.
with multiple cores/threads running...the speed (and thereby voltage) of cores at a given task will be much lower than a single core cpu....provided application supports multiple threads.
At all times, maximum efficiency will be maintained AS WELL there will be enough juice to fill the tasks in the future which may/would require such processing power.
also, newer chips will be more efficient and may not eat as much battery as we are assuming due to smaller binning process.
Think in terms of efficiency instead of power consumption and you will see this as a better thing for battery than a curse

Partners have been working hard to push updates sooner than before.. a couple months delay can still be understandable. But if google gets the fragmentation under controll then we will see faster updates.
But yes, sw optimization >> hw specs
@scorpy
Manufacturers mention HD coz it sounds awesome!!.. but it is not Full HD unless mentioned.
The whole reason why SGS2 still has 480x800 is that the SAMOLED/SAMOLED+ kind displays can not have a higher density yet. But maybe samsung's development fath meets qHD + SAMOLED which interms they are calling SAMOLED HD. FullHD will be impossible at present and unnecessary forever for display that small size.
