EA should take a break with the NFS series for 2 maybe 3 years and the comeup withe a new NFS game based on a new engine..they have been dragging the same old engine for too long now..

My first reply here after starting the thread :P

The gameplay is monotonous and needs extreme amounts of precision.. will be good to evaluate PRO racers..

As of now, on the grip race, i've been able to do only 2:08:11 over 2 laps, with nos used up in the first lap just to pull away from those nagging opponents. Best lap is around 1:01:xx.

Pls do post you're times and if you've got tips, post em too ;)

Played the demo, it seemed very difficult to control the car even on such a straight circuit, somehow dont prefer games that make everything too realistic in terms of controls

Hey Jesal, I'm with you man the controls are pretty easy don't know why people are complaining bout that, came first the very first gameplay with King mode on the Nevada Track... The graphics looks awesome even when EA has announced that the Demo graphics are not good as compare to The full version has some lagging, And i Have also read on many forums regarding the same. Have to wait for a week now to finally play the full version.

Bout the controls Give a person to play Formula1 who's been a fan of NFS Series and trust me after a game play of less then 30 secs he will quit the game........ Why U try it urself.........

My Ratings are as follow :-
Graphics - 6.5/10 [I know Bout the Demo GFX Prob but i'm xcluding that part]
Sound - 9/10 [I'm A Music Fanatic What Can I Say]
Gameplay - 7/10 [Just For Two Tracks & Two Cars]

The above Ratings will change for the Full Version............
So sit back and relax

heres my first reply to this thread.
sure i took a long time to do this but then again im lazy.
whats wrong with pro racing in nfs ? out of all the racing games out there i'd much rather play something professionally like nfs instead of something like gtr2, because its fun and its fast and gtr2 is too realistic and i'd rather go out and drive my own car instead. that might be hard to understand for some of you, but even if its "pro racing" theres still shitloads of fun involved. making setups, sharing setups, making your car look cool stuff like that. thats right, for most people its more fun playing an arcade game professionally than playing a 100 % simulator. im not saying gtr2 is bad, i just think its less fun to play. think about it in other genres to get an idea. how many of you would like to play unreal tournament (real tournament) only to find that you can pick up 1 weapon , your running speed depends upon the weight of your weapon, a 10 meter fall would mean your death, you cant double jump, you drop your weapon if your shot in the hand, oh and you cant respawn because it isnt "real". gimme a break, people play ut professionally because it a hell of alot of fun. if i wanted something super "professional" i'd have joined the army.
all that said, i liked the nfs pro street demo. after reading everyones replies here i was like damn bi*** this game must really be bad. but its not! i cant wait for the full version. the graphics are cool, ive played the speed challenge so many times, the smoke effects look realistic and the music is awesome. **** trance.
the only thing i didnt like about this game is that for some reason they dont like allowing the player to assign a "pause " button on a controller anymore. god damn them.

peace

arun.. gr8 reply mate.. btw im a sucker for the nfs series and ive been playin nfs for years together now.. anything different is always welcome.. means you have more challenges to cross that makes it more competitive in the international circuit as well as the domestic ones. Rating a game based on its demo is not doing justice to the game itself, i guess if we all try to change our outlooks and try a lil to race it becomes easy, its not easy at first but it does get better as you play more, btw the full version promises more and my sources are keen on the full version release.. i play on a pad and yes it handles like a beauty.. keyboard is not an option for this game .. but i did a FL for a KB 1:06:05 on the react race.. the engine is great and is not "A MOD OF THE OLD ENGINE" yes this is confirmed from my sources in EA. i hope you have fun with the game ... Cheers!

Err, what about Counter-Strike? It's the biggest game in the history of pro-gaming (much bigger than UT) and it's exactly what you described down to a T ;)

You can never tell what people will find fun.
The SimRacing Leagues scene is bigger than the NFS scene and is strictly regulated. But it's hidden to the casual eye and since there's no money involved, it's technically not 'Pro'.

Race2Play, just one example.

yeah i kinda borrowed examples of cs and put them in unreal tournament but im talking about unreal tournament here and how unreal is.. unreal and thats how its fun. i dont care which game is bigger in the history of pro gaming :S

here is a teaser for the people who havent got the full version yet.
max settings @ 1680 x 1050 (4x Fsaa + anisotropic filtering)

i dont no why ea does the same cookie cutter job year after year they shud do something more to the franchise instead of treating it like cash cow
just because people buy the sequel when the prequel is good and giving us a stale game just to earn more money it has become ea's style y'know.

Yeah Looks really bad even with AA ... and I dont like the camera zooming in/out as per the speed
