Thanks for this thread. It led me to finding https://hovancik.net/stretchly/ It's non-native so bit buggy/laggy but cross-platform so it works on macOS.

The pomodoro technique used to work for me when I was younger, but not so much these days. These micro-breaks do seem to work, I've been using Stretchly for about two weeks now and I've been far more productive with the forced breaks. It might seem counter-intuitive to break concentration in the middle of a coding fever but it helps with re-evaluating strategies and priorities.
