Please change it from a vertical stand to a horizontal stand like the following for example:

Yes yes, i know i am a f**king arrogant *******, cuz i am asking him kindly to do so, just like i asked all other members, i am trying to piss off members cuz they have signatures that take half of the page, but why should that matter since all members here are on 10mb lines & not dialup & slow connections, i mean come on whats more important a sig to show off SLASHDOT.ORG & your rig with 10 vertical lines or the good group of members?

Yeh thats slashdot.org , they have moderators that are not arrogant as i am.

Oh wait there is another zillion tech forum that have a moderator not as arrogant as i am.

So what say guys? lets all post a link to another technology site in our sig's?

Since some see us as a an open directory or a site advertising other Technology sites, true?

In other words, we try our best to serve you all, when some1 gets an alert or a warning , trust me they didnt earn it for the smilies, they know very well what they did.

I have stated it many times i am just a member like you, but when basic & easy rules are broken, me & staff will do our best to enforce them to make everyone happy.

Albert's anger is justified here, ppl have other things to do other than PMing members a million times about their signatures and when they dont agree, edit it manually. Its not that we dont have proper rules or guidlines are are confusing ppl, everything is states crystal clear, even after that, we have been a bit more genrous (we? no no Albert) so as not to give a alert/warning to the user who even after x PMs didnt bother to look into it. now this thread is not against rahul3111, its a genral thing that we have to deal more often these days

Its only natural for him to be pissed. The first post here is just an example. Many a times we are accussed of being too strict but the members concerned should give a thought from our perspective too. Still if they feel that there are some rules that are hampering their prerogatives then there is always the feedback section.

Of course it is quite possible that Rahul3111 was just kidding but that would have suited him well had he followed the rules or at least bothered to act upon the warning PMs by Albert. Now what else would one expect from a mod if the user conveniently ignores the warnings and rules and backs that up with a smartalec statement.

I know the feeling Albert .. I deal with guys like these often at Digit .. And the worst point is that they dont appreciate it that we are doing it for the good of the community itself .. so indirectly good for them too ..

I am sure you wont be feeling any nice after that .. But just forget it as just a day's work .. Its the part of the job ..

dude having ur comp configurationg really helps in these kind of sites and this is text not takes much time to load........ but can u explain the need of crap images in the sig ...... i have seen too many people having that and that really slows down the page loading speed .....can u do somthing about it ......

By the way Albert the 4th quote in your original post (a64 sig with switch's reference) is the one you send to me and not Rahul

And yeah, I dont think sigs are that much an issue. it dosent matter much if its vertical or horizontal in terms of bandwidth even for a dialup user if its text. its those pic siggies that needs strict rules not the text.
I personally like to show off my rig in my sig. I do this in every forum except this one for now as i think posting CSS game server address is just more meaningful here for now.

No need for any strict rules for text siggies. You wont find text sig rules anywhere. Its the image size that needs to be limited.
And ya 10 line siggie is no big deal, if it gets really big then its problem.

EDIT: IMHO there was no need to make this public. Whats the meaning of PM then?
Take it up with other mods not here.
No meaning to defend or offend anyone but being a mod means you need to deal with these things calmly and without making a fuzz about it.

Its good that you had altered your sig after 5 mins from the time u recd his PM. But, it was also important that once you had recd such a PM from a mod of the site, it was your responsibility that when changing your sig, all the new rules be kept in mind.

But, here again is another matter.....since we have a set of rules to enforce, let me tell you that Albert here is the most linent of the mods and he takes more pains to mod the forums and go through practically each and every post in every section here in the time he has. Also, we are supposed to issue alerts in all such cases, but Albert thought otherwise and sent you PMs. I think you must respect his decision.

Anyways, since it is over now, to avoid future complexity, Albert used your PMs. And, i dont see any personal information displayed here. Thus, these messages should not offend anyone. Coz, all the mods usually follow the same format to PM in official matter unless the person in question is very well known to him.

Though we donot have an option to only omit sigs which according to you are "crap images", we do have a feature by which you can disable all sigs to be shown.
Go to usercp, click on Edit Options and then locate whats shown in the img below to disable sigs and avatars.

if this option is there then y u people are having rules about sigs anyone can chk that option .......anyways in this kind of sites having the configuration helps a lot rather than showing off some BS in the sig .......am i right ???

having specs in sig does help in trouble shooting but keep it under 5-6 lines or whatever the rules state

all of us here dont have a resolution of 1600*1200 so most of the time a 10 line or so sig takes up half the screen and it isnt something that most of us want to read. and if you make more than 1 or 2 posts in a thread we are gonna be spending more time scrolling then reading . which is why text rules are in place and both image/text sigs shouldnt be higher than 100px

I think whatever Albert said was in good interest and it was nice that Albert used PM to alert Rahul3111 , but then the very purpose of PMing was contradicted by posting the conversation here . I understand that by publicly posting an example , it acts as a deterrent to other members but then what is the warning system for ? . Such a thing would most probably be misunderstood and taken as a personal insult .

My suggestion , make the warning indicators sticky so that its easily recognized by other members what offence the member carrying the warning has done . This will act as a deterrant and will be a professional approach towards dealing with things . Also send PM's to all the members indicating the Rules with the warning level indicator rules too , since many a times the thread containing such information is missed or overlooked .

the alert level indicators shud be more defined .... so that the offence is easily identifiable ...for eg ... instead of alert level 1 ...15 , put text which describes the offence , like ' alert level 3 : foul language ' . This wud make it embarrasing for the member since while reading a post , when one sees the alert in red , one gets curious what the offence was .

and yea , the mods are doing an excellent job , ours is by far the best tech forum on Indian shores and it only going to get better . hyeah:
