well, public posting of pms is not good i too agree, but this gives an example, wat all the mods hav to face in moderating these forums.. he is not against rahul or anyone else.. he is generaly depicting the condition of all mods..just as a reminder..

about the text sigs, i dont mind if images are removed, or their size is made lesser...

the mods are doing a great job here, and i appreciate the warning system/alerts etc.. as ragin ice said, if there was an indication to the member in the warning/alert itself, u ppl can avoid the pm system for warning.. i dont think any hack is available like that..but still..

I think the PM shudnt have been posted so openly and the members name shudnt have been given :no: :no: ......this shudve been told anonymously..Then why is is called a PM.....it makes no sense washing dirty linen in public :hap5: ........Not like im supporting rahul3111(for his oversized siggy) or opposing Albert (just bcoz hes given me a 15 point warning) but thats how my opinion goes.Frank and Clear and very much neutral hyeah: hyeah:

hmmm.....i dont see anything rude here...infact my sig has been removed twice IIRC, when the rules were changed....

it seems to be unfortunate that the sig rules wwere changed, so Al had to send those many PMs to a single user....

the problem is that announcement was new (about the links in sig) ..... i didn't read that ......if i have seen that i wud have been removed that link .....

See...the fault was with you too...you hadnt read it...or had you? that announcement thread was ppping up repeatedly, so i'd regularly checking it out.....

well, the way i see it discusing these notice PMs in public is a not big deal, consider this, if albert had given u an Alert/warning, how embarising that wud be to get that stupid red alert text next to ur stats, it is annoying to see, rest alone carry one, and then everyone will know what u did that earned u an alert/warning, wud that option be better?

also, you said that you changed you signature with in 5 minutes from recieving the PM, and had to change it again coz it was still not in accordance with the rules, but he did give u the link to signature rules in his first PM naa, and the rules aret that technical too that you got confused.

I too agree discusing Pms in publis is wrong, but mind you these were notices, which Albert took the pain in writing coz he didnt want to give an alert/warning, think about it

Forum sigs are to be used respectfully, TechEnclave already has to display ads to cover the running costs, so don't annoy our members by making your sig into some sort of web ad. (ie: Advertising in your sig is not allowed).We allow sigs only to non advertising personal websites or to blogs.

hi rave after getting his first message i just removed the sig in 5 mins and pur it back after editing ....then he again asked me to do something and i edited that again .....

Well, this means u didnt read the rules, coz Albert aint mad to ask u to edit ur signature for no reason.

dude having ur comp configurationg really helps in these kind of sites and this is text not takes much time to load........ but can u explain the need of crap images in the sig ...... i have seen too many people having that and that really slows down the page loading speed .....can u do somthing about it .....

Graphics in signatures should be no larger than 100 pixels high by 500pixels wide.
File size should be no greater than 40KB this includes any text or images used in your signature.

Please show us the user who's sig does not comply with these rules with the report post option and we will take care of it

if this option is there then y u people are having rules about sigs anyone can chk that option .......anyways in this kind of sites having the configuration helps a lot rather than showing off some BS in the sig .......am i right ???

well if thats the case, why dont we use command line version or non gui version of OS where you get texts only, even that wud suit the purpose? whats the point of ppl working and creating different skins for TE?

Ok enough of it. Thank you all for your time in seeing this thread and giving us your feedback.

There was a notice put up in announcements clearly stating sig rules. It was also clearly mentioned that no tech sites link must be put up in sigs. If you are to do that then a back link from that site is what we want(you can contact me directly if you represent that site). As such it was clearly and unequivocally stated that decision of the mods will be final and binding in that regard.

It is the duty of all members to read all the site announcements posted. As it is sufficient time was given after posting that announcement.
Many boards don't even allow any outgoing links. But since there was a demand from some members to link to blogs or their personal websites. Keeping that in mind we had agreed to allow only those links.
Let me make it very clear that albert posted these pm's here for all to see on board how we work. He could have just given a warning and gone on with removing the sig. Please try to understand that mods are looking at almost 300-500 posts everyday and they are pretty stressed out. This is not a easy job. I would ask you guys to co-operate with them.

And if for some reason you don't like viewing these sigs, then welcome to the company and disable the sigs from user cp as i have done.
