i was just wondering whether or not we got to unlock phones when they have no contracts if i get one from abroad.
also if i were to get a contract phone and then unlock it here would i have to pay for the whole contract period.
cheers.

If you're breaking a contract you have to pay the 'Early Termination Fee(ETF)'. Usually the ETF would be mentioned on the contract/carrier website.

And, I believe you can unlock the phone if it's not on contract.

what if its a cdma phone , then how do we go about it

and which is a reputable and cheap site to get unlock codes

same thing as for GSm..You have to pay for early termination of contract...

CDMA phns in US and CANADA comes without a SIM card...

so u need to do a bit of programming to make it wrk here....

thanks guy
one more question
what about these unlocking sites
are they reputable and which are the top sites among them
thanks and cheers
