my rig is as below:

E7200
GA-G31M-S2L
Transcend 2x2GB 800MHz
WD6400AAKS
Samsung SH-S223F
VX450

Now I replaced G31M with EG31M and everything is working fine.

Problem is with the rig I moved G31M in. It's spec are:

E2160
GA-G31M-S2L
Transcend 1x2GB 800MHz
WD6400AACS
Samsung SH-S223F
Zebronics Generic 450W PSU

Everything is new except the G31M which is borrowed from the 1st rig.

when I press the power button ON, all fans are working including the CPU fan,
but there is no display, also the HDD led is not glowing.

When I remove the DVI-sub cable from the mobo, monitor (E178WFP) displays auto check, red, green, blue.

when I connect it to mobo monitor goes to power saver mode and displays nothing.

Now what might be the problem?

IMO it's not the mobo since it was working fine in the 1st rig.

remove all the cable and components like ram, gpu etc from their respective slots and put them back with a nice press! (except CPU)

and try again !

this is a common problem btw

PS:

try a few times while u keep ur PSU on

if still it does not work... then :(

any help guys.

I'm getting frustrated now with so many tries without any clue/direction.

Looks like your mobo does not have a onboard speaker....

Well what you can do is get a PC speaker like the one in the image below

and see if your mobo is giving any beeps as there are many possibility of No display i.e. Bad Ram, Bad Ram Slot, Bad GFX, BAD PSU etc etc...

^^ yes it has a speaker.

now what should I notice?

and if it doesn't beep, what it means?

and if it beeps, and still no display, what it means?

since I said HDD LED is not glowing, while I can feel the HDD rotating by touching it, I think PSU is the culprit.

mobo was working fine in 1st rig, so I guess all slots are fine. tried with another RAM also, using IGP.

^ This particular thing is a common problem..

I've also encountered this same frickin' issue, and I was not able to find the culprit.. I had come down to either faulty RAM or faulty motherboard.

Don't know for sure though! :(

For the HDD I don't think you are connecting the wie at the right place so the light ain't glowing but the others hmm...Have your tried using a different RAM stick ?

ok guys, problem sorted out.:D

there was something hairy/wire in the cpu socket  , which was creating all the problems.

anyways happy me.:eek:hyeah:

repped everybody.:hap2:
