At least much better than someone hot but can do nothing in bed :P At least can give some performance and not just be a block of rock.

Had a better response in mind , but would have taken the thread out of hand. Maybe we can FORWARD a message to iphone users on their phone from ours , seeing that they have to install other software's to get this same function on theirs. :rofl:

iPhone is a good phone , i will not deny that , but not at all worth the tag , as well as the pain you have to go through just to get the most basic features working on it , and that too illegally . This renders it just as a piece of Show-Off for others , rather than a phone which you personally like for the features and the use. And the Tube is not far away from the iPhone in looks , i agree the touch might not be that great (can't say without experiencing it myself) but put up everything else , and we have a winner in Nokia.

BTW , any other iPhone Fanboi's out there wanna hail there Apples :rofl: and crap on the Tube, i am full of ammo , as will be some other users as can be seen above:2guns: :gun2: :gunsmile:
 
Hey phoenix, weren't you one of the guys, among many others, who was eagerly awaiting the iphone launch and constanly speculating about it's launch in the iphone thread ?? classic case of sour grapes huh ?

from the initial videos the crappia's os looks to be the same old affair, and whats with the stupid resistive touch screen ... was expecting much better things from nokia, after all it's nearly a couple of years since the iphone launch and except from the os upgrade and 3g added to it, it has recieved no major updates ... still everyone is trying to catch up with it and not even coming close.

and dont take that 'mobile-review' review too seriously, they have always hated apple ever since their site was taken down allegedly by apple fans .

besides the reviewer should have filled up both the phones to atleast 50% of their capacity and then checked how responsive the nokia really was :P

btw phoenix jailbreakin only takes 15mins max, and unjailbreaking too doesnt take more than 20mins or so ... i dont think people mind doing it if it's gonna add make the phone better. FYI I did it with my Sony Ericsson too to get a few additional features that were not provided OTB

Sour grapes ?? I never said the iPhone is bad. But its comments like tracerbullet's who started me on it. I still would very much like to get the iPhone , and as i had said , its a very good phone no doubt. But at this price point ? Wow , thanks but no thanks.

Sour grapes maybe suited for others , who can see what the other manufacturers are coughing up for half the price point.

The same can be said for Apple. Leave the Touchscreen aside. Take into consideration the basic features that you would expect form a phone this costly. No message forwarding ? Come on. And so many problems in contacts ? if you say everyone is playing catch up in making the right touch , then IMHO Apple is still far away from making a phone User Friendly.

This debate can Go on and on , with Apple users hailing it , and others pointing out the problems.

I will still say again , the iPhone is a good phone. And it does carry off what Apple is famous for , the looks .And no phone can come close to that. But if people start b!tching about other phones for apparently no reason , then my friend , i am here to give them an earful.

Lol , right.

The iPhone is definitely a class apart , but really not worth it for 30k+ . But maybe we are saying that coz we can't spend that much on a phone. People even purchase watches for 1lakh+ , we never expect it to give us a better time than a 100Rs watch do we ? Its the same here too.

But yea , if you say , the Tube is ugly , coz i have the iPhone it rules , then my friend , i can promise you , you have stirred up a hornets nest.

Let me state one. When I have a long list of contacts, I very much like to find a contact quickly by typing in the first one or two letters of the name rather than scrolling through the entire list (be it touch scrolling or flicking on the screen). My age old SE P910i does it perfectly and so do many sub 10k phones. I believe you cannot do this on an iPhone. Apple will probably fix the feature in a new iPhone 3G 2.0 next year rather than fixing their existing phone and the iFanboi's will still lap up the new phone like its a revolution.

Anyway the major deal breaker for me at least is the lack of copy paste. I use copy paste in my phone on a regular basis. The lack of this feature could have been forgiven in a sub 15k phone, but when a phone costs 30k and touted to be a PDA Phone, it does not have any excuse for lacking such a feature.

As for those cribbing about the responsiveness of other phones, iPhone is not any better than the other phones in responsiveness, Recently I spent some time playing around with an iPhone and though its not as bad as the beta Nokia 5800 videos showed, its still just about the same as the final release of the Nokia 5800. iPhone UI responsiveness just as good or as bad as any decent PDA phone released recently.

Finally its a bad habit of iFanboi's to bash a phone just because its offering 80% of the stuff iPhone can do and a lot lot more it cannot do for a little more than half the price. :P

Personally I am planning to go for either Samsung Omnia, HTC Touch HD or XPeria X1 just waiting for the last two to release, but Even Nokia 5800 is not a 100th part as bad as the iFanbois make it seem.

You can do it in :) and it doesnt just search and match the first few letters but looks for those letters in the whole string.

I'm on firmware 2.1 and got only about 400mb of space left and still I can tell you there is no lag at all in most of the operations except the sms app which takes a few more seconds(which is mostly due to the threaded sms view I guess)

You must have seen one with firmware 2 installed which was known to be slow and had a few crashing issues ... 2.1 fixes all of that and is lightning fast

Also having read about you previous posts in a few other threads I would like to say that I can understand that you work on a mac and dont like it ... but that doesnt mean all their other products are also bad ... and no one is talking about the iphone having the best audio output, but for a user who doesnt sit in a sound proof room(as most of the phone users would be using it while travelling) the difference is not noticible at all

PS - I'm not trying selling the iphone in any of the threads but just defending against the misinfo being spread about

hey apple fanboi :P for ur information mobile-review is a very reputed site so dont say that their reviews are crap and how many phones apple hv to give competition to other phones just one bloody iphone.Dont blindly say that their review is crap, u hv any proof????.

I have no idea about this "jealously thing, you're going on about. Thanks to my job, I'll probably be able to look at the Tube before any of you guys, because I'll be there at the launch. If I like the Tube, I'll pick it up, plain and simple. But that isn't going to happen unless Nokia fires their design team overnight :P

I never said the Tube is a bad phone. What I did say is that it's ugly as sin. And it's slow as f*ck. But then again, I'm going to give it the benefit of the doubt regarding its speed until I get my hands on it. For the lack of a better analogy, if you enjoy jumping into bed with an ugly chick (however good she might be) good for you. At least you're truthful about your tastes.

Back to the topic at hand, Nokia does have some good lookers, my top 3 phones in terms of looks and aesthetics are the iPhone, The BlackBerry Bold, and the Nokia E71. It's typical of you Nokia fanboys to jump the gun and get your panties in a twist when someone says anything against a Nokia phone. My dog's mug of a face looks better than the average Nokia phone. Here's a suggestion, stop wearing panties to begin with.

So let me state it again, since you fanboys didn't read it right the first time: the Tube is ugly as sin! Don't start whining again about the features and whatnot because I'm talking about the phone's looks. If you do start crying again, it's merely being evasive and cowardly :P
