After a lot of hard work the guys at PNHT forums have managed to port Nokia C6 firmware to the Nokia 52xx phones, specifically the Nokia 5230 (v21.0.004), 5228, 5232 and 5233 (all running v21.1.102). It's important to note that this update is only a beta, which means that there are a few bugs that are still present.

Despite that, it's certain that a lot of people will appreciate the C6 update on their Nokia 52xx phones, especially after they take a look at the video below, which demonstrates how the Nokia 5230 is running C6 firmware.

Nokia may not be a world-beater in the high-end smartphone battle anymore, but it still does well in the low-end segment of the market with phones like the 5230 and 5250. That's why this software treat will come in handy for all the guys who are sticking with their well-tested Nokias.

You should be able to download the firmware through the link below, but you should take into account that by the time we're publishing this news article, the PNHT forum seems to be down.

So all u enthusiasts with Nokia 52xx get ready for a nice firmware update :)

Umm all the softwares that support C6 will be compatible. Let me remind u C6 was launched as the costliest C series in it's time. And now it can be on ur INR 6,000 - 7,500 phone, thats hell of an improvement already.

Secondly, completely widgetized HS which is a delight.

3rd, wait up for CFWs, they will had Battery Mod, more HS, superb optimizations such as full KS, No Camera Sound, improved speed, CPU Mod etc etc etc

been using the beta c6 fw since almost a month. I just hope they port the Omnia homescreen on it as well.

be warned people, the v20 C6 fw for 5230 Rm-588 is for fw 21.6.5 which will rename your 5230 to a 5235 and you will be unable to downgrade to the official 5230 fw after this, unless you own the jaf hardware.

This can cause issues with claiming warranty so proceed at your own risk.

The beta C6 v11 for RM-588 is based on the official FW 21.0.04 and you can mod it yourself to remove the camera and battery bugs and still be able to reflash to the official fw.

hmm thanks, so since the 5235 is identical to the 5230 except with the comes with music feature, do u think 5230 will officially receive the 21.6.5 FW update soon??? All other 523x phones have got new FWs 5230 has been left out with 21.0.004(me using RM-588)

This sure got me excited. I'll probably wait for a little more stable release. Great Job !

Me too, waiting not just for final release, but someone to make a CFW out of the final(many already made solid CFWs from the beta itself), then I'll check for the overall best one and flash!!!

1 very important thing which i want to clear, IF YOU ARE USING JAF/UFS patched/cracked software, please dont fool it with around, being a mobile repairmen in my past, i have learned alota thing, mainly, this;--- MESSING WITHOUT KNOWING WHAT YOU ARE DOING MAY BRICK YOUR PHONE :(. for your information, JAF is a interface box which us phones non-regular flash interface, RX-TX,VCC & GND mainly and this is how it looks like

JAF-BOX-ACTIVATED.jpg

So, please mess with JAF,

actually what people do is run the jaf software via an emulator of the usb dongle without the box.

you need the box for advanced features like downgrading or flashing a bricked phone but for normal flashing, the emulator suffices.

I have messed a thousand times already, but ofc ymmv and consider this as a disclaimer :P

And yes, even if you brick your phone, you may be able to revive it in some cases, although I never bricked mine to say this with certainty.

Yep, a genuine JAF comes with a P-Key which acts like a certifacte server for the program, now what most of us are using is a virtual server which provides accepts and revert these requests :P, just like Assassin's Creed crack :P..

USB interface is the best option to use with JAF, but most of the times what people do is, Select the files, and do click on this button FLASH :/.. which sometimes ended up with a toy in your hand :P.. Read some precautions or guides for using it properly, don't fool around it with, 1 wrong click, and everything gone

absolutely. People should only proceed at their own risk :P

But really, its not that tough once you read the guides on dailymobile.se and follow them to the letter.

it takes barely one minute to flash a firmware but you should spend more time reading and understanding the correct procedure before flashing the cfw.

Infact my cfw was not detected automatically by the ini and even the first time I flashed, I had done so by setting everything up manually without following the guide. But then again, I knew what i was doing and understood the consequences of my action, and being a bios modder, I had the nerves to follow my own procedure. It may be more of a nerve racking procedure for most people.

I have this tendency of flashing all my hardware the first day i buy it. So my dvd writer, my motherboard, graphic card, onboard vga, router and phones have all been flashed the same day I had purchased them. That way if something goes wrong, you can simply claim doa

Although the only time I screwed up was with a chinese mp4 player based on mediatek chipset for which the firmware I downloaded was faulty and there was no backup to revert to and I essentially bricked it. lessen learnt. Don't mess with Chinese devices which have zero support :P (Although gimme the correct firmware anyday, I shall unbrick it.)

if you brick your phone, you may have it repaired through Nokia Care.

i have flashed my 5230 a few hundred times and its better than ever. Infact the stock fw had bugs like a spontaneous restart problem which got cured as soon as I flashed with an updated fw.

--- Updated Post - Automerged ---

just checked in Navifirm that the latest fw for RM-588 is 21.9.105, so its safe to flash with the 21.6.5 c6 fw.
