hello guys, having some issues with MY nokia e71 ( charge doesnt last long, lasts only for 1 day but initially for 3 days ). Bought it from UAE.
so went to Nokia care in Kellys. I explained the problem and the enginner said that it wont be covered under warranty as it is bought in UAE so they will charge something. During my discussion, a supervisor (may be chief enginner i think) came and asked the engineer to exchange his battery with mine to check it and asked me to come today evening and report whether his battery lasted long in my handset . I told that just half day is not sufficient and he agreed and asked me to come on Monday.
He also told that a firmware update may solve this issue but he isnt sure of that. But first he insisted me to check the battery and then go for a firmware update in case the battery is not the culprit.
And one surprise is he told that the firmware update will be done at free of cost, inspite of telling him that it is a UAE purchased handset.
Now my question is i have already upgraded my firmware to the latest through nokia website. It took me an hour and i now i have the 300.12 firmware installed in my handset. But the nokia enginner said that their method of firmware upgrade is different from what we (consumers ) do. Is this right ?. Is the firmware upgrade which is done by nokia CARE guys different from what we do ?. Will it have any benefit /effect in my handset ?
plz reply me guys. I am totally confused. I also told them that i already upgraded the firmware, but they are very strong with their argument that their firmware upgrade works well ...
