Nokia N81 issues - I hate Nokia service

I have my n81 having network problem .
All other features are working but whenever i select network nothing get displayed i tried changing the sim but nothing happen.
I submitted the device to nokia gallery andheri they asked me to pay 600 rs to fix it .But now they are asking 5000 rupees as they think its big problem .
Please suggest what to do

Sorry to inform you, As your handset found tempered that’s the reason it is not repairable here, we advice you to send it to the main head branch, we need your agreement on the same. The estimate cost for that is 4692 /- excluding VAT.

lols. dont worry mate.

i had issues with my N95 3.5mm jack. Whenever i insert the headphones it started asking me for the input type.

Then i too went to the so called TRUSTWORTHY nokia galleria and submitted my out of warranty phone and wtf???? they too quoted me rs 5200/-:@:@ and said my cell has some major motherboard problems and it need to be sent to delhi for 15days and even after that the board'll be in just 1months on warranty..:@

Hell my cell never had any operational issues like hanging,restarting or etc etc..

they seriously dont have brains...which fool will shelve out 5k+ for old cell? bt would rather get a latest touchscreen in same amount. :)

I gave my cell to local mobile repairwala and he said the jack needs to be replaced and it was all done in mere 250 bucks.:P:):D Now my phone is back with bang...:clap::clap:

Moral of the story: NOKIA SUCKS IN AFTER SALES SERVICES. THEY JUST WANNA MAKE MAKE OUT OF EVERYTHING THEY CAN FROM. THEY ARE REAL CUSTOMER LOOTERS...

So always insist yourself and your friends to first go to a good local cellphone repairwallas and then finally make your way to nokias.

go for n86 its a good phone. But i would suggest come out of nokia world and try SE, MOTO & other brands. esp Android OS phones.

OP, I think you better go with some local repair guy, fix it & sell it if you expect major issue may arise in near future with phone.

My cousin had some problem with his one low end Nokia phone & he got same treatment as your, when he submit phone it was very good cosmetic (2nd hand dealer offer him 3500/- for buy back) but he opt to get it repaired from NOKIA AUTHORIZED CREVICE CENTER @ Rs.400/- (iirc)- vile parle (at that time), just in a week same problem strike again, again he contact crevice center, they ask it to keep it for a week or more to get it fix with additional charges.... I suggest him to sell it with same dealer, after looking at phone (after service by authorized crevice center) dealer said Rs.2800/- as it's cosmetic condition was worst than first time he inspect it.

go for a local repair...

he will charge u about Rs.500 to fix it (if nokia people haven't tampered with the IC)

If they are asking for Rs5K then most probably they are gonna change the complete Mainboard...

The Nokia N81 model in itself is a buggy model. I own one. The music, games..etc all are great except it is prone to defects. Even if you change the motherboard..There can be problem in the sliding connector ( Cost: around 2000 Rs). The 8Gb memory can get corruppted (Costs: 3000 Rs). So be carefull on what you do

N81 2gb (with updated firmware) is an exception for what is said.

I have the N81 2gb model. No issues till now. But the body is all broken. Any idea how much will be official body cover cost?

the chinese one which may fit 80% properly on your phone will cost you between 400-900bucks but if u want the original nokia made then be prepare to shell out from 2k-3.5k
 
One of my friends used the cheap chineese one. It very bad. Only 3 months and he has to change it again. So i won't go for it.
 
what even the problem might if they have to open the set the say its board problem and the complete motherboard has to be changed...
