:) Most new P35(mobos) or rather the cheap ones have ICH9 i.e they do not have raid support(ICH9R).

1. Now is it anyways possible to put two disks in raid in these mobos?

2. If not what is the performance diff if you have two disks but without raid?

Is it significant?

I believe you understand what is raid. And raid is not only for speed, for data assurance also.

you can always buy external SATA raid card anyway :) If you intend to have raid then go for mobo with Raid .. thats the best option. I dont think you will see a significant price difference.

:) Actually only very expensive mobos seem to have raid support...all of them beyond 13k:)

Thanks I did not know about the sata raid cards though? How are they priced in India

even my intel 945GNT mobo had raid.

SATA 1.0 raid card should cost around 700-800. May I know what mobo you are referring for 13k above ?

:) Look at the asus india homepage...the basic P35 mobos do not have raid support(ICH9)...

(ICH9R) is present only in their wifi or blitz or things which you know will not be priced below 13k in India....

Can you tell me any mobo(P35 chipset based) priced below 10k in India with raid support

Even the msi neo does not have raid support..

The neo combo has as an optional...

and gigabyte prices are already prohibitive

I have no idea of India market price :) I just wanted to know which model :) How about other brand mobo ? are they same as well ?

:) I edited my post....it is quite high for the three popular brands anyways...which place are you from?
