Storage Solutions Not working Pendrive

I have a 8 gb transcend pendrive, which is getting detected but no drive shows up.
The Pendrive is spoilt according to me. Is there any way or a repair center that can
get it repaired. One of my friend had given it to me, so don't have the bill and he too does
not stay here now...
Do I have to throw it in dustbin ?

My friend had the same and was on warranty. he took it to the shop and they said since the text was smudged off the pendrive since repeated use they couldnt replace it cause they couldnt see number. he had to throw it away
