I have the 2a as well. But i got one problem with the GPS. It doesn't show my location accurately sometimes. Like my position in maps keeps jumping around or moving even when i'm stationary
Same issue on my cmf 1. Takes multiple clicks to get the location. But overall i felt it is value for money especially at discounted price of 12-13k range.

I see. Honestly, apart from that the phone is pretty good. Nothing OS is my favorite when it comes to aesthetics.

You gotta give it to them on one point though. They know their marketing. Launching a new brand from scratch when the market was shrinking as big names (such as LG, Sony, HTC etc.) exited in hyper competitive scenario and actually sell enough units to be noticed is quite an achievement. Even Nokia never got a serious spot in the market after that HMD buyout. Also, it's not copy-pasting Chinese brands either. Their design is unique in a sea of samesies.

I've been using 2A since launch and have had no complaints so far. Decent performance and clean UI without ads or bloat, that's all I wanted in a phone.

Exactly why, I am using the nothing 2a and it is working fine for me why to stay away from it?
Because you get nothing. (Sorry, had to do it).

You got to appreciate them for the marketing, but then a new startup is bound to put a lot of their expense into marketing while making losses, whereas the more established companies have to make logical choices after counting their beans.

It is anecdotal, but you can check their forums and subreddits for the various issues people face with the OS which is quite buggy and not mature enough compared to its peers, while offline support is expectedly sparse. They were also caught sourcing the OS from the same Chinese team used by BBK while only removing bloatware and putting a new skin, after which they said they will take the OS in-house, but haven't really hired many people to work on the OS. The camera processing is also far worse than its peers. The hardware being older is overpriced for what it offers. It is basically what OnePlus was under Pei, with the OS being perenially unstable and the camera being always worse than others.

With the number of people in India and China, a new company with funding that can leverage its Chinese connections, will always do well on the price front and generate revenue if it can create a unique enough proposition.

I mean, if you check Samsung or any other top brands forums or subreddits, you will find enough complaints there too. If I get a product that is 90% there at 50-60% price point (compared to Samsung A series or previous FE series), I am inclined to go with the cheaper alternative. As far as OS is concerned, not sure what buggy is, and this purely anecdotal on my part too, but I find its OS way better than Samsung mid range, my last phone was Samsung S21 FE.

I owe no brand loyalty to any of them though. If another alternative ships with a clean os that is without ads and bloat, I will gladly try that out next time. Motorolas look nice these days.

Samsung OneUI is buggy as hell & its mid range releases are becoming bad year after year. Real me & Poco has a lot of bloatware. Really I think Moto & Nothing phones are only ones which are clean OS.

Ghatiya product which cannot do even the basics right. Problems are not one but several. For instance, until you open an app the notifications won't come for that app; like I have a certain section of this website under push alert notification, but they never come until I unlock the phone and open Chrome. Gmail, telegram notifications etc are also delayed. Then the vibration motor, I mean I throw an open challenge here to find me a phone having a worse vibration than this, and I mean any phone in any price. You will never feel this thing vibrating in your pockets. Then the awful display. The texts lack clarity and they are also more grey and less black. Even the software is not that well optimised as people think. If there's any embedded video in an app and you try to scroll through it, it becomes extremely choppy. So that 120hz is lol.

All these have already been mentioned in nothing community one just needs to head over and see: https://nothing.community/t/phone-2a

Should have known that clowns like carl pei is only here to make some quick money with ridiculous features like glyph lights and a bloody transparent back cover etc nonsense. I think I even saw the phone 3a being compared to iPhone 16 few days ago. Yeah.

Just get a motorola. Mid range stock Android peaks there. And you will have good enough hardware with all the basics right at least.

I just wasted 10 mins writing this up
