Hey guys.

I'm thinking of getting the earphones from US. Cost around $39 + shipping.
Should I get them or is there anything better available in the market around that price range?
 
You need to let us know, what sound signature you like. And the kind of music you listen to.

NE-6 is great VFM, so are RE-2, PL-50, ME M6, Brainwavz M1 and M2.
 
Oh sorry I forgot that. For me bass is as important as clarity. I do like the base on the higher side but not at the cost of clarity.

I mostly listen to hip hop, alternative rock, rock and electronica.
 
NE6 is a great option at that price. But it is more bass oriented and you lose out on a little details and clarity in mids and highs. If you can stretch your budget, the Brainwavz M2 are great.

You could also look at PL50, though you might find the bass to be a bit less.
 
Perhaps you can up the budget and get Hippo VB. It has detailed mids and higs and great bass. Only issue could be sibilance(vocals) and highs a bit edgy. You can get it from Moshel(TE member), the price might surprise you. :)

The M2 is costing too much at the moment. Its $59.90 + $18.60 shipping. I cant go more than an overall $60 ATM
 
^ Not all that great unless you like lot of bass and a muddy midrange. I had tried it once and somehow they didn't sound all that great to me , atleast not as good as all those reviews :S.The Hippo VB,Klipsh S4, Brainwavz M2 are much better options.
 
So if you had to choose between the 3 you just mentioned which one would it be? and also are they all better than ne-6?
 
For me it would be M2 but that's due to my tastes . Even the S4 is pretty good ,infact more comfortable from what Ive read. VB is very detailed,analytical and the bass being adjustable you can tune it to your liking but it lacks the fun / musical part .

If you get the S4 for good price locally , go for it or order M2 online ..but it might take some time to get delivered.
 
Can I get M2s from anywhere besides MP4 nation???

I'm still reading reviews about M2 and S4. the S4 review on TE was a help but i still haven't found an equivalent M2 review

Right now it seems there is no point of getting the headphones from US as the price is same.

The Brainwavz M2 bundles on MP4 Nation seem very tempting. I don't what the difference is between Fiio E1 and E5 as I have never used anything like that.

As you and others have mentioned in the threads that I read, M2 with its accessories is the best deal right now, and to add to it MP4 nation has free shipping I think, though only through the postal method instead of courier.

I'll keep reading the reviews as I still don't see a clear choice :(
 
You don't need any of the E5/E1 bundles ..won't make a big difference with M2. Yeah maybe you can keep reading reviews on head-fi till you come to a conclusion .That's what I do usually. Brainwavz M2 is really good , I think 90% chances you will be very happy with it :).
 
I read everything I could in Head-fi. No luck.

If anyone can find a proper comparison between M2 and S4 please do let me know
