NVIDIA folder consuming huge amount of space

I was checking file size in my C Drive today using WinDirStat. Found the following folder consuming 8.3GB of space.
Location - C:\ProgramData\NVIDIA\Updatus\DownloadManager

I searched online but nobody could confirm that this folder can be cleaned without any issue. Does anyone here know what I can do to reclaim this space?

how many times have you updated the nvidia driver ?
Update happens on its own.
Strange thing is that the issue got solved on its own. I had not booted into Win 7 for quite sometime. I restarted and booted into Win 7 again and the folders were gone. Lots of space became free.

Seems like the Geforce Experience automatic updating is turned on.So the app downloaded portions of the drivers over time and a restart got rid of the temp files. This is weird as even if the app failed to download the entire driver at one go it is again creating a new temp download file on its next try to download.

Tun off automatic driver update and make it check but ask before install.
