All of us were expecting mid range DX-10 cards in March, April, 07. Sadly it is not true.
Acording to well informed Digitimes - I quote-
Nvidia is preparing to launch a series of GeForce 8600 cards in the middle of the second quarter 2007 to help satisfy the increasing demand for DirectX 10 supporting graphics cards caused by Windows Vista, according to market sources. The GeForce 8600 series will be priced to target mainstream markets, the sources add.

According to the release plan several versions are currently being prepared, the sources claim. The GeForce 8600 GT with 512MB memory will be priced between US$219 and US$229, while a 256MB version will be available at US$199. Additionally, targeting an even lower price point will be the GeForce 8600GS at between US$159 and US$165, the sources have revealed.

That would put the launch date in May 2007 in US. Don't know the time time lag for the same to be launched in India, probably 3-4 months, correct me if I am wrong.

Sweet! I'll probably get it in a year or so, just in time for Nvidia's next generation cards to come out, which I will wait another year or so for and on, and on, and on...

The price seems good though, for the incredible performance that the 8 series gives so far.

People forget that the software is still immature- Vista is not a good gaming platform as of now and there are no DX10 titles, it will be mid-late '07 before these two issues are sorted out.
