News NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 Is 2x Faster Than 4080 At $999, RTX 5070 Ti 2x Faster Than 4070 Ti At $769, RTX 5070 Faster Than 4090 For $549

Looks like these cards just exist to sell the super/ti series which is somehow "corrected" version of the base cards... Really unforgiving consumer-unfriendly generation from Nvidia especially considering low 40 series stocks

The biggest issue with this is again going to be pricing. It's already garbage value for money, then add the inflated prices and it makes no sense. And then, watch as it immediately sells out everywhere lol.

This PoS is just 20% faster than the 4070 Ti (not Super)
Its actually 8% faster than 4070ti super. Awful !!

5070ti looks pretty decent IF it will ever be available at 750$, which might take ages. I wish MSRP had to be followed by 80-90% of the AIB cards, with 10-20% of them being a "premium" version... Sadly nvidia will never enforce that since they don't even care to have enough stock.

Entire 5000 series is wasted basically. Someone who has to buy, buy what makes sense today.
But as an upgrade, na. Very mediocre uplifts for the price.

Maybe good for my 3080 as it will remain somewhat relevant for some more years. I optimized my undervolt bit better and got 5-7% more performance and now very close to stock at ~235w.
Good enough.

I have a feeling used 3080/Tis will start appreciating after this horseshit launch.

From what I can tell, Super cards are likely to arrive in the future, but this generation doesn’t offer much incentive to upgrade. The high price is a major deterrent.

The super cards pricing will again from $999 & go to $1999 depending on versions. Nvidia is also releasing RTX50 series 5050 & 5060. I don't know why they are releasing these cards and who will buy them? They may even release 5040.

5040 as fast as 4070 with MFG. 10 fps transformed to glorious 40fps.
Add lossless scaling on top, and 5040 as fast as 4090 now with beautiful high refresh rate visual fps.

Even if AMD releases something 50% faster, dummies will buy Nvidia only. Just look at the awful 3050 vs 6600.

Nvidia Might Sell You an RTX 5080 or 5090 Directly—Just Fill Out This Form

The company is resuming its 'Verified Priority Access' program to sell the hard-to-find GeForce RTX 5080 and 5090 graphics cards to Nvidia users.

To address scalpers and scarce supplies, Nvidia is reviving a program that will sell its sought-after GeForce RTX 5080 and 5090 graphics cards directly to some US consumers.

On Wednesday, Nvidia announced its “Verified Priority Access” program is coming back to serve the RTX 5000 series. The system works by distributing the graphics cards through registered users of the company’s GeForce Experience and Nvidia apps.

“It will give a limited number of verified GeForce gamers and creators in the United States the opportunity to purchase one GeForce RTX 5090 or RTX 5080 Founders Edition graphics card from the Nvidia Marketplace,” the company wrote in an official forum post.

The system also gives Nvidia a way to distribute the product to real PC gamers, as opposed to resellers or bots. The company notes it can verify a user’s participation in the program based on their “region, configuration, games, and app usage.”

“Users who have an Nvidia Account created on or before January 30th, 2025 at 6AM Pacific Time can submit their interest for Verified Priority Access through this form,” the GPU maker added. Filling out the form simply requires you to sign in with your Nvidia account and select which GPU model you want.

“If selected, we will notify you via email. Signing up does not guarantee selection or product availability,” the form adds. “Limit one per invite on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last.”

The first invites are slated to roll out next week. If you receive one, you’ll have access to buy a Founders Edition model, which are often the most-sought after, given their low starting price at $999 and $1,999, respectively, for the RTX 5080 and 5090.

GPU vendor Zotac has also been selling some RTX 5000 models directly to consumers though its Discord channel. Meanwhile, Newegg revived its lottery system to distribute GPUs.
